Hace poco hice un post donde les hablaba sobre uno de mis libros favoritos: A través de mi ventana. En él les decía que Netflix sacaría la adaptación de este libro a película y que me gustaba mucho la idea de traerles este contenido; así que el 4 de febrero se estreno la película y debo decir que yo la vi ese mismo día, este post esta llegando después porque siempre me gusta publicar mis opiniones de películas un tiempo después para poder ver las cosas desde otra perspectiva. Advierto que este post puede contener spoilers.
A Través de mi Ventana, nos cuenta la historia de Raquel, una chica que siempre ha estado enamorada de su vecino: Ares Hidalgo... Un día se da cuenta que él esta usando su Wifi; y entonces ellos comienzan a hablar y acercarse, quizá demasiado para lo que deberían.
I recently did a post where I told you about one of my favorite books: Through My Window. In it I told you that Netflix would release the movie adaptation of this book and that I really liked the idea of bringing you this content; so on February 4 the movie was released and I must say that I saw it that same day, this post is coming later because I always like to publish my opinions of movies some time later to be able to see things from another perspective. I warn that this post may contain spoilers.
A Través de mi Ventana, tells us the story of Raquel, a girl who has always been in love with her neighbor: Ares Hidalgo.... One day she realizes that he is using her Wifi; and then they start talking and getting closer, maybe too much for what they should.

Comencemos diciendo que el libro lo he leído mil veces así que se bien como son las cosas en la historia pero debo decir que la película cambio muchas cosas, algunas me agradan y otras no tanto. Lo bueno de esta adaptación son los actores, a excepción de Claudia siento que todos los demás físicamente se parecen; si me falto Ares con los ojos azules y su cabello un poco más largo pero en general siento que si atinaron medianamente a lo que se describe en el libro.
Ahora, hablando como tal de los personajes, no entiendo porque razón quitaron personales importantes como por ejemplo: El abuelo Hidalgo; ósea de verdad no comprendo porque lo pusieron como muerto; tampoco tuvimos a Carlos ni a Gregory. Y a otros personajes como Sammy y Marco le quitaron mucha importancia y relevancia, esto tampoco lo entiendo, porque le quitaron un pedazo de esencia a la historia. Con los demás personajes siento que no hubo tanto desarrollo, principalmente porque siento que personajes como Artemis, Daniela, Yoshi e incluso Ares y Raquel no tuvieron una explicación de su esencia ni tampoco se explico ciertas actitudes que solo podemos entender las personas que leímos el libro; entonces se siente que no hay una explicación de los personajes. Además la mamá de Raquel es enfermera no camarera, siento que solo cambiaron eso para agregar el drama del final y eso desde mi punto de vista era completamente innecesario.
En cuanto la trama, me siento un poco confundida, porque hubo tantos cambios que siento que se perdió la esencia del libro, me siento un poco mal de decirlo así porque para mi es un orgullo que Ariana Godoy (la escritora del libro) pudiera lograr tantas cosas con su talento, que eso fuera reconocido y que Netflix se interesara por una historia que comenzó en Wattpad, eso da muchísimo orgullo; pero también siento que hay cosas que no estuvieron bien en la trama y debo explicarlas con amor y respeto por unas de mis historias favoritas.
Let's start by saying that I have read the book a thousand times so I know well how things are in the story but I must say that the movie changed many things, some I like and others not so much. The good thing about this adaptation are the actors, with the exception of Claudia I feel that all the others physically resemble each other; if I missed Ares with blue eyes and his hair a little longer but in general I feel that if they hit moderately to what is described in the book.
Now, speaking as such of the characters, I don't understand why they removed important people like for example: Grandfather Hidalgo; I really don't understand why they put him as dead; we didn't have Carlos or Gregory either. And other characters such as Sammy and Marco, they took away a lot of importance and relevance, I don't understand this either, because they took away a piece of the essence of the story. With the other characters I feel that there was not so much development, mainly because I feel that characters like Artemis, Daniela, Yoshi and even Ares and Raquel did not have an explanation of their essence nor did they explain certain attitudes that only people who read the book can understand; then it feels that there is no explanation of the characters. Also Raquel's mother is a nurse not a waitress, I feel that they only changed that to add the drama at the end and that from my point of view was completely unnecessary.
As for the plot, I feel a little confused, because there were so many changes that I feel that the essence of the book was lost, I feel a little bad to say so because for me it is a pride that Ariana Godoy (the writer of the book) could achieve so many things with her talent, that that was recognized and that Netflix was interested in a story that began in Wattpad, that gives a lot of pride; but I also feel that there are things that were not right in the plot and I must explain them with love and respect for one of my favorite stories.

La película marcho hasta el minuto 20 más o menos con la esencia del libro muy presente, después todo se descontrolo y entonces hubo cambios por todos lado, funcionaron ciertos personajes y esto fue lo que no me gusto, aparte que siento que la película iba muy rápido, y hay cosas que no se entendieron porque no se explicaron y medianamente uno puede entender porque tiene los conocimientos del libro pero si una persona no ha leído el libro entonces no entiende nada.
Tantas escenas que puedo decirles que así no iban pero enserio lo que más me molesto fue el drama, en el libro el drama comenzó desde que hablaron por primera vez literalmente, y luego ellos crecieron mucho, en la película entonces extendieron el drama se hizo básicamente al final con una fiesta innecesaria, y una casi muerte de Ares por una alergia a Cloro (eso de verdad no lo entiendo nada, porque literalmente no estaba en el libro); además al quitar al abuelo Hidalgo, cosas como por ejemplo el deseo de Ares de querer estudiar medicina y ser apoyado por alguien de su familia, y algunas cosas de Artemis no tuvieron sentido y ni siquiera se explicaron.
Lo único bueno del cambio de trama fue que vimos a Daniela que si acepto por fin tener una actitud diferente con Apolo, literalmente ese fue mi sueño en el libro y lamentablemente no se cumplió; en la película nos muestran como a Dani después no le importa la edad y lo presenta como su novio. Esa escena me gusto mucho, sin embargo siento que se perdió mucho del protagonismo de Apolo. Otro aspecto positivo es que la mamá de Raquel la apoya más en la película, pero haciendo este cambio también quitaron cosas importantes que tenían más sentido que lo que ellos hicieron.
The movie went until the 20th minute or so with the essence of the book very present, then everything went out of control and then there were changes on all sides, certain characters worked and this was what I didn't like, besides I feel that the movie went very fast, and there are things that were not understood because they were not explained and moderately one can understand because one has the knowledge of the book but if a person has not read the book then he doesn't understand anything.
So many scenes that I can tell you that they didn't go like that but seriously what bothered me the most was the drama, in the book the drama started since they talked for the first time literally, and then they grew up a lot, in the movie then they extended the drama was basically done at the end with an unnecessary party, and an almost death of Ares because of an allergy to Chlorine (I really don't understand that at all, because it literally wasn't in the book); also by removing grandfather Hidalgo, things like for example Ares' desire to study medicine and be supported by someone from his family, and some of Artemis' things didn't make sense and weren't even explained.
The only good thing about the plot change was that we saw Daniela who did accept finally having a different attitude with Apollo, literally that was my dream in the book and unfortunately it was not fulfilled; in the movie we are shown how Dani later doesn't care about the age and introduces him as her boyfriend. I liked that scene a lot, however I feel that a lot of Apollo's protagonism was lost. Another positive aspect is that Raquel's mom supports her more in the movie, but by making this change they also removed important things that made more sense than what they did.

Sinceramente las canciones tampoco me gustaron y mucho menos esa versión de I Hate You, I Love You. De verdad que nada de sentido esa letra, y las canciones básicamente no encajan muchas veces en los momentos.
Otra cosa buena de esta película fue que la vestimenta y/o caracterización de vestuario de los personajes son acertados, la verdad todos se visten como se describía en el libro y eso fue algo que me gusto. Pero por ello no puedo ignorar que la relación de Ares y Raquel no fue ni medianamente representada en esta película.
La verdad es que más fueron las cosas malas que buena, sinceramente se entiende el hecho de que es una adaptación pero para mi el problema radica en que hay muchas cosas que no se entendieron, la película iba muy rápido y lo más grave para mi: no estaba la esencia de la historia que me enamoro.
Honestly, I didn't like the songs either, much less that version of I Hate You, I Love You. It really didn't make any sense at all, and the songs basically don't fit many times in the moments.
Another good thing about this movie was that the costumes and/or wardrobe characterization of the characters are accurate, the truth is that everyone dresses as described in the book and that was something I liked. But because of that I can't ignore that Ares and Rachel's relationship was not even halfway represented in this movie.
The truth is that there were more bad things than good, sincerely it is understood the fact that it is an adaptation but for me the problem lies in that there are many things that were not understood, the film went very fast and the most serious for me: there was not the essence of the story that I fell in love with.

Aún con todo lo que les he dicho me siento orgullosa de haber visto esta historia llegar a película y aunque las cosas no fueron como esperábamos los fans igual nos sentimos orgullosos de Ari, y nos quedamos con la emoción que sentimos al vivir la experiencia de esperar la película, verla y ahora criticarla con mucho respeto.
La película de A Través de mi Ventana, no fue como lo esperaba y realmente tengo un sabor agridulce con la forma en la que fue desarrollada pero no deja de ser un lindo momento el que viví viéndola.
Even with all that I have told you, I feel proud to have seen this story become a movie and even though things did not go as we fans expected, we still feel proud of Ari, and we are left with the emotion we felt when we lived the experience of waiting for the movie, watching it and now criticizing it with much respect.
The movie of A Través de mi Ventana, was not as I expected and I really have a bittersweet taste with the way it was developed but it was still a nice moment I lived watching it.
