The screenwriting team to bring this series to life was composed of American and British writers, an interesting combination of perspectives that can be appreciated in each episode. This TV series was produced by Sony Pictures Television and premiered in 2018 on Amazon's streaming services.

I love this type of fiction since its production is very much in the style of "The Twilight Zone" episodes where the viewer must interpret many times the encrypted message in each chapter. This interpretation depends on how "Open Mind" you are.
What caught me about this series is that it develops current urban myths of a technology-dependent society. Long gone are those related to vampirism, haunted houses or demonic possessions, classic fiction even in the mid-20th century.
This fiction is futuristic as it involves the concepts of artificial intelligence, it also has elements of "cyberpunk" when an overwhelming technological advance is observed in a society in economic and value decadence.
Personalmente me encanta este tipo de ficción, ya que su producción es muy al estilo de los episodios de "The Twilight Zone" donde el espectador debe interpretar muchas veces el mensaje encriptado en cada capítulo. Esta interpretación depende que tan "Open Mind" seas.
Lo que me atrapó de esta serie es que desarrolla mitos urbanos actuales de una sociedad dependiente de la tecnología. Lejos han quedado aquellos relacionados con el vampirismo, casas embrujadas o posesiones demoníacas, clásica ficción hasta a medidados del siglo XX.
Esta ficción es de corte futurista ya que involucra los conceptos de inteligencia artificial, también tiene elementos del "cyberpùnk" cuando se observa un avance tecnológico abrumador en una sociedad en decadencia económica y de valores.
In each chapter, you will discover current concerns such as the incitement and implication of social paranoia, social control through the invasion of the most intimate privacy such as thoughts, the use of precognition to contain protests. It shows a possible alternative scenario of the future youth facing the challenges of wanting to belong to a social group at the expense of giving up their privacy and security, which is already happening, however, in some episodes, the consequences may be greater than what we are currently experiencing.
En cada capítulo vas a descubrir preocupaciones actuales como la incitación e implatación de la paranoia social, el control social a través de la invasión de la privacidad más íntima como lo son los pensamientos, el uso de la precognición para contener protestas. Muestra un posible escenario alterno de la juventud futura frente a los desafíos de querer pertenecer a un grupo social a expensas de renunciar a su privacidad y seguridad, cosa que ya ocurre, sin embargo en algunos episodios las consecuencias pueden ser mayores a lo que estamos viviendo en la actualidad.
A concept that I enjoyed in this series was that "transcendence" is always latent in a technological world, which consists of transferring "the soul" or "essence of the being" with its memories, feelings, desires, and previous knowledge acquired to hardware, called a chip, to be later inserted into a synthetic humanoid unit and reach a form of immortality, thus achieving the so "longed for", by some, man-machine fusion. The same happens with the concept of alternate worlds, where the viewer must recognize what is real, something very difficult when you focus on the experiences of a character in several worlds by recreating the "string theory", a physical-quantum theory where time is not linear, time bends on itself giving way to the formation of multiverses, something very similar to what we already experience on the web through the metaverse using the activity of avatars, but in this case, the alternative of many "I" in different spaces and with different experiences occurring simultaneously is proposed.
Un concepto que disfruté en esta serie fue que siempre está latente la "trascendencia" en un mundo tecnológico, la cual consiste en trasladar "el alma" o "esencia del ser" con sus recuerdos, sentimientos, deseos, conocimientos previos adquiridos a un hardware, llámese chip, para ser luego insertado a una unidad sintética humanoide y alcanzar una forma de imortalidad, logrando así la tan "anhelada", por algunos, fusión hombre-máquina. Lo mismo ocurre con el concepto de mundos alternos, en donde el expectador debe reconocer qué es real, algo muy difícil cuando te enfocan vivencias de un personaje en varios mundos haciendo una recreación de la "teoría de cuerdas", una teoría fisicocuántica donde el tiempo no es lineal, el tiempo se dobla sobre sí mismo dando paso a formación de los multiversos, algo muy parecido a lo que ya experimentamos en la web a través del metaverso por medio de la actividad de avatares, pero en este caso se plantea la alternativa de muchos "yo" en diferentes espacios y con vivencias diferentes ocurriendo simultáneamente.
The scenography work to represent the future is impeccable as well as the costumes. They are elements that make you believe that the future dominated by artificial intelligence is just around the corner. But for the moment I will not tell you more about this series so as not to fall into spoilers. If you are encouraged to take this trip to the future and decide to watch this series, you will see that it is a more current fiction with a lot of interesting sociological content to be explored.
El trabajo de escenografía para representar el futuro es impecable al igual que el vestuario. Son elementos que te hacen creer que ya ese futuro dominado por la inteligencia artificial lo tenemos a la vuelta de la esquina. Pero por los momentos no te voy a seguir contando más sobre esta serie pàra no caer en spoilers. Si con los descrito anteriormente te animas a realizar este viaje hacia el futuro y decides ver esta serie, verás que se trata de una ficción más actual con mucho contenido sociológico interesante a ser explorado.
