Greetings friends, movie buffs and fans of small screen series, today I want to comment on "Servant" a series of psychological horror genre which until now has two seasons of 10 chapters each.
Who is behind this project?
Servant is a series that premiered in November 2019 under the direction of Tony Basgallop, a renowned screenwriter of iconic miniseries on the British television network BBC. He was the creator of 25 of the 32 episodes of the series Hotel Babylon (2006-2009), screenwriter of the miniseries Inside Men (2012) and the crime mystery What Remains (2013).
Saludos amigos cinéfilos y fanáticos de las series de la pequeña pantalla, hoy les quiero comentar sobre "Servant" una serie del género de terror psicológico la cual hasta los memomentos cuenta con dos temperadas cada una de 10 capítulos.

¿Quién está detrás de este proyecto? Servant es una serie que se estrenó en Noviembre de 2019 bajo la dirección de Tony Basgallop, un renombrado guionista de miniseries emblemáticas en la acadena televisiva británica BBC. Fue el creador de 25 de los 32 capítulos de la serie Hotel Babylon (2006-2009), guionista de la miniserie Inside Men (2012) y la de misterio policíaco What Remains (2013).

As icing on the cake, Servant counts among its producers with M. Night Shyamalan, known film director and screenwriter of the hits Sixth Sense (1999), Signals (2002), The Village (2004) and of course the famous Eastrail 177 Trilogy composed by the masterpieces about superhumans such as Unbreakable (2000), Split (2016) and Glass (2019). So knowing this as a viewer I knew that the suspense and psychological game of the plot would be guaranteed.

Por tanto al conocer esto como espectadora sabía que el suspenso y el juego psicológico de la trama estarían garantizados.
What is Servant about?
As I mentioned before, this is a series that has two seasons, whose chapters do not exceed 30 minutes so it is easy to watch in a weekend, of course if there is not much to do. There is talk of a third season, but it remains to be seen if it will materialize.
Servant is about the Turners, a professional married couple who, with the birth of their son, find themselves in need of a nanny. Sean Turner, the husband, is a culinary consultant so his work is from home, but sometimes he has to travel to fulfill work duties. On the other hand, Dorothy Turner, the wife, is a television reporter who has given much importance to her career but motherhood has forced her to establish other priorities, but like any new mother, she believes she needs the help of a nanny to not feel so overwhelmed with the change that implies the arrival of a new member to the family.

Por otra parte Dorothy Turner, la esposa, es una reportera de televisión quien le ha dado mucha importancia a su carrera pero la maternidad la ha obligado a establecer otras prioridades, pero como toda madre primeriza cree que necesita la ayuda de una niñera para no sentirse tan abrumada con el cambio que implica la llegada de un nuevo miembro a la familia.

So that's how young Leanne Grayson arrives at the Turner's house, coming from a small town in Wisconsin, with a very simple appearance in his grooming and few words, to serve as the nanny of this couple. Leanne is a fervent believer who prays every night with her bible but is always surrounded by a halo of mystery.
Pues es así que llega a casa de los Turner la joven Leanne Grayson, proveniente de un pueblito de Winsconsin, con un aspecto muy sencillo en su arreglar y de pocas palabras, para fungir como la niñera de esta pareja. Leanne es una ferviente creyente que cada noche reza con su biblia pero siempre la rodea un halo de misterio.
Servant is not the typical series where the nanny wants to keep the husband of the owner of the house, as the first impact for the viewer is that Leanne was hired to take care of a reborn baby, yes just as you are reading, a doll made of silicone with features so real that it is very similar to a real baby and this is where the series catches you.
Servant no es la típica serie donde la niñera se quiere quedar con el esposo de dueña de la casa, ya que el primer impacto para el espectador es que Leanne fue contratada para cuidar un bebé reborn, sí tal cual como lo estás leyendo, un muñeco hecho de silicona con facciones tan reales que es muy similar a un bebé real y es aquí donde la serie te atrapa.
Undoubtedly, as the chapters develop, an ambivalence is born in each of the characters, many times you don't know if their intentions are good or if there is a dark intentional evil behind each action.
In my opinion, the characters achieve a perfect blend between them thanks to Julian, Dorothy's brother, played by the British actor Rupert Grint, Harry Potter's inseparable friend. Julian seems to be the only one who keeps his sanity in the face of taking care of a silicone baby, but perhaps this is my opinion shaped by the suspense and psychological game that its creators sow in the viewer's mind.

Sin duda a medida que se desarrollan los capítulos nace una ambivalencia en cada uno de los personajes, muchas veces no sabes si sus intenciones son buenas o hay una oscura maldad intencionada detrás de cada acción.
A mi criterio los personajes logran una almalgama perfecta entre ellos gracias a Julian, el hermano de Dorothy, interpretado por el actor británico Rupert Grint, el inseparable amigo de Harry Potter. Julian parece ante toda esta tramoya el único que conserva la cordura frente al cuido de un bebé de silicona, pero quizá es mi apreciación modelada por el suspenso y juego psiológico que sus creadores siembran en la mente del espectador.
