Esta película del año 1999 y protagonizada por Kevin Spacey la vi cuando apenas tenia 11 años, y me gusto, me acuerdo en aquel momento que me pareció un filme fascinante, y luego tuve un largo tiempo sin verla hasta el día de hoy, ahora tengo 30 años, y puedo decir que la película me sigue gustando, y es que la magia de la misma, esta en la sutileza de los diálogos, en como los mismos van orquestando todas las escenas, llega incluso a ser entretenida, y bueno que mas se podría esperar de un talentoso directo como lo es Sam Mendes quien también nos atraído películas mas recientes como 1917 y Skyfall, algo mágico que tiene esta película es en como estan construido los escenarios, tiene un esquema de colores bastante atrapante con mensajes ocultos para los espectadores mas dedicados, donde la rosas y el color rojo siempre esta presente de manera sutil, desde un plano donde todo se oscurece y únicamente se ve la puerta roja de la casa, hasta una simple cena donde están colocada de manera que parece simple un mero adorno.

Nuestro protagonista se enamora de una amiga de su hija o el cree enamorarse, estado de catarsis donde llega el personaje al darse cuenta todo lo que estaba haciendo mal, haciéndolo incluso analizar todo, e incluso el propio amor irreal del protagonista no es la protagonista, el personaje se encarga de hacernos ver que el único que lo ve como algo bastante fantástico es el protagonista pero de lejos la podemos ver como alguien promedio que intenta desesperadamente salir de su estado social, todos los personajes podrían parecer que habitan en la misma casa y que contienen mundos separados con historias propias, hasta cierto punto si es asi, pero la realidad es que todo se orquesta para el final, y final que el mismo protagonista nos dice que el morirá desde el minuto uno de la película, si no hasta visto este filme tienes que verlo, es una parada obligada para cualquier cinéfilo.
