Cuanta la leyenda que antes de la llegada del universo cinematográfico de marvel, existió el universo de los mutantes de fox, con el poderoso actor hugh jackman a la cabeza interpretando a wolwerine, pero este universo fue en declive y fox fue comprada por la empresa Disney, y bueno es que después del gran fracaso que resulto ser dark fenix, llega esta película new mutants que técnicamente es la ultima del universo de mutantes, y es que ser el cierre de una franquicia tan amada no es tarea fácil, así que este filme tuvo mucho peso sobre sus hombros, y lamentablemente quedo en un meh, no es ni mala ni buena, es una buena película para pasar el rato, primero hay que decir que la idea en general era atractiva una película de terror de superhéroes, pero la verdad es que las escenas de terror se quedan cortas, no fueron lo suficientemente fuertes como dar un impacto real, y quedan mas como el estilo noventero de hacer filmes de terror, la pareja romántica que se va formando entre la protagonista y la otra chica carece de química, no es mala, pero es demasiado apresurada especialmente después de que la protagonista perdiera a su padre, eso si los efectos especiales si bien no son lo mas increíbles, si cumplen con sorprender y presentar a unos mutantes con poderes bastante únicos.

La actriz Anya Taylor Joy es lo mejor de esta película, su personaje se te hace tan interesante que por momentos piensas que es mejor que cuenten su historia en ves de la que estamos viendo, su actuación es lo mas relevante y me gustaría que Marvel le de una oportunidad cuando traiga a los mutantes, la verdad pensé que odiaría mas esta película, pero no es así, es bastante entretenida y cuando termina, si piensas bueno a lo mejor en una secuela mejoran los defectos que tiene, pero esto no va a pasar como ya sabemos, pero si debo decir que la recomiendo, pero vela sin expectativas muy altas.
