"Marshall" will be about the first African-American Supreme Court Justice and focus on the first cases of his career. To be released October 13, Marshall tells the tale of the young NAACP attorney in the 1930s battling against capital punishment sentences in segregated America. “They were also places where almost nobody had ever seen a black lawyer before." Thurgood Marshall would later argue for Brown vs. Board of Education in 1954 and became a Supreme Court Justice in 1967.
Commentators note that he had an extraordinary sense of legal strategy, and he possessed much courage to deal with the ever-present threat of violence in the southern establishment and by white vigilantes. Chadwick Boseman, rising star who portrays the Black Panther in the Marvel movie series, will perform as Thurgood Marshall. I'm interested in the movie because I'm familiar with the name of Thurgood Marshall but completely ignorant about his life.
