Greetings, Hive community! It's a pleasure to be in the Scrobblelife community, bringing you a review for my participation in the Halloween Party initiative organized by @wiseagent, which will be taking place during September and October link here.
The film I'm about to share was recommended to me by my daughter, who loves this genre. I don't particularly like horror movies; they just stress me out, and I tend to avoid anything stressful. However, I wanted to join this initiative and support this great Scrobblelife community, which I've been a part of for a few months now.
The film is titled "Silence on the Lake" (Eden Lake, 2008), directed by James Watkins and starring Kelly Reilly and Michael Fassbender. The story follows Steve, who decides to surprise his girlfriend Jenny, a kindergarten teacher who adores children, with a trip. His intention, in my opinion, is to propose to her during the trip. They embark on this weekend adventure to an old mine where a beautiful lake is located.
Upon arrival, the surroundings are very pleasant and perfect for relaxing, but the tranquility ends when a group of aggressive and disrespectful teenagers appears. They have a very restless dog that won't stop bothering the couple. Steve loses patience with the youths' irritating behavior and decides to confront them politely. However, they continue their inappropriate behavior and escalate the situation by stealing their belongings, including the truck key. Everything spirals out of control when, in a confrontation, the boyfriend accidentally kills the dog.
The group's leader, driven by rage, convinces the others to take revenge. From that moment on, a series of desperate events unfolds, forcing the couple to run for their lives while the teenagers frantically pursue them.
My Personal Opinion
From my point of view, the teenagers' initial reaction was completely excessive. They acted as a group with no control and no respect for others or for other people's property. The young man who led the gang was extremely aggressive and manipulative; he carried the brunt of the violence in the story. As the story progresses, everything becomes terrifying and schizophrenic.
The ending, in particular, struck me as very heartbreaking. Throughout the entire film, I imagined there would be a more encouraging ending, but that wasn't the case. If you like intense suspense films with terrifying endings, this is an ideal choice for you. Horror and suspense fans will surely enjoy it, and I found it entertaining.

La película que les traigo a continuación me la recomendó mi hija, quien es amante de este género. Particularmente no me gustan las películas de terror; simplemente me estresan y suelo evitar cualquier cosa relacionada con el estrés. Sin embargo, quería unirme a esta iniciativa y apoyar a esta gran comunidad de Scrobblelife, de la cual formo parte desde hace algunos meses.

Sin embargo, ellos continúan con su comportamiento indebido y llevan la situación al límite al robarles sus pertenencias, entre ellas la llave de la camioneta.Todo se sale de control cuando, en un enfrentamiento, el novio desvive accidentalmente al perro.
El líder del grupo, llevado por la rabia, convence a los demás de vengarse. A partir de ese momento se desencadena una serie de acontecimientos desesperantes que obligan a la pareja a correr por sus vidas mientras los adolescentes los persiguen de forma frenética.
Mi opinión personal
Desde mi punto de vista, la reacción inicial de los adolescentes fue totalmente desmedida. Se mostraron como un grupo sin control ni respeto hacia los demás o hacia la propiedad ajena. El joven que comandaba a la pandilla era sumamente agresivo y manipulador; él llevaba la mayor carga de violencia dentro de la trama.A medida que avanza la historia, todo se vuelve aterrador y esquizofrénico.
El final, en particular, me pareció muy desgarrador. Durante toda la película imaginé que habría un desenlace más alentador, pero no fue así.Si les gustan las películas de suspenso intenso y con finales aterradores, esta es una opción ideal para ustedes. A los amantes del terror y del suspenso de seguro les gustara y para mí fue entretenida.
