Live Is Life || Life is about learning to lose/gain what you have.

Review by @cute-cactus · 1526d · of Live Is Life

Everyone has problems and stories about the transition from childhood to adolescence. They can seem funny and silly when remembered years later.

The 2021 Spanish film Live Is Life tells us exactly the funny and dramatic stories of 5 childhood friends about their transition to adolescence during the summer holidays. Rodri is one of these 5 children and goes to his family's village every summer holiday. Since he spends every summer holiday in the village, he has friends there.

Rodri going to his parents' village every summer holiday reminds me of my own childhood. I used to go to my grandparents' village every summer holiday, more out of necessity than choice, as my parents worked. I had friends in the village - just like Rodri.

I believe that everyone (especially men) will see snapshots from their own lives in the film Live Is Life. While watching the film, you are very likely to say "yes, I did this in my childhood".

Especially in adolescence, we see a lot of options in the film such as easy anger, raising his voice, inability to express himself and making fun of simple events. This inevitably brings to our minds and eyes the thought of making comparisons with our own past life.

The fact that 5 children act with the slogan "we are always together" and that all of them take action in case of a problem faced by one of them is an indicator of their strengthened friendship and an element that adds a separate entertainment to the film. While watching scenes such as the older ones teasing the younger ones, counting it as fun to put someone in a difficult situation, taking out their anger on someone's belongings, it is possible to find the reactions quite humane because I remember that I gave similar reactions at the time.

Of course, the 5 friends I mentioned and who make up the main characters of the film do not have a smooth life. In addition to their funny lives, they also have dramas that will cause your eyes to fill with tears. All these are part of the entertaining content of the film. I try not to give too much information about the content because I will make a recommendation to watch the film. If you are sure that the genre of the film appeals to you, get ready to see and remember fun moments and sections from your childhood-if the genre of the film does not appeal to you, I cannot guarantee fun because the film does not have hit and miss scenes, fast transition scenarios and misleading endings!

Instead, it has features such as first time alcohol experience, first time cigarette experience, stealing a washed sheet from where it was laid, stoning the roof of the house where his father fell, making a habit of swimming in every pool he finds open, and the first kiss with the opposite sex, which present entertainment from a child's point of view.

Okay, I didn't steal a bed sheet, and my father didn't fall off the roof of a house, but I remember my other experiences like it was yesterday, and while watching Live Is Life, I grin at every scene I find in my own childhood.

There is no such thing as happiness, you can only be cheerful every day. Life consists of learning to lose/gain what you have.

Hearing these words from a cancer patient was like the "experience of a short life" that came in the most dramatic scene of the film and brought tears to my eyes. Sometimes the difficulties encountered make people mature early.
