The story of a drowned woman who turns into a witch and takes revenge on those who visit the island has become the stuff of legend. A group of young creators organize a one-day vacation to the island where the story takes place and try to prove that the witch does not exist by recording everything they encounter.
Although not exactly; the above short information is the story of the 2022 Swedish movie FEED. The reason I say "not exactly" is because I want to keep the content of the story under wraps. I promise I won't spoil anyone's viewing pleasure.
I'm more interested in horror movies these days. I think it's related to the way I feel periodically, because sometimes it's the same for action movies... And sometimes for sci-fi...
Before the list goes on and on, let's get back to the real topic. For the past few days I have been searching for horror genres and watching the movies I have selected. I still have a few more on my list, but now it's time for FEED.
I watched the Swedish movie in the original language. At the beginning I thought it was a Serbian movie because of the way they spoke, but at the end I realized that I was wrong. I don't know both languages, but I saw similarities.
I must say that the location chosen for the movie was heartwarming and had an excellent view. I liked the location more than the movie. I would have liked to be in the shoes of the young people who were trying to create content and prove that the story was made up.
Although the movie was released in the horror genre, it is about the adventures of a group of young people in nature. I didn't feel any fear or tension throughout the movie. The fact that there were some surprises while trying to prove the reality or fabrication of a mythical creature spread by word of mouth made the movie bearable.
What is most disappointing is that the story is entirely driven by economic interests. How much charm can you give to a place by spreading fake news about it? If I evaluate the movie in the adventure genre, I might be a bit more positive, but if I evaluate the movie in the horror genre, I didn't like it at all.
The only thing I liked was the location and the efforts of the young people to produce content. As for the acting, it was a very ordinary production. Would you spend an hour and a half for the beauty of an island in the middle of a lake? I think the answer to this question is equivalent to choosing whether or not to watch the movie.
My opinion is to tell you not to get involved with this movie at all.
