As the years go by, new horror stories emerge, and at the same time, many may turn out to be true or false—just like the Backrooms, a phenomenon that has been mentioned in countless online stories, YouTube channels, and other platforms. It consists of a simple image: endless yellow corridors. That’s why the time has come to adapt it, and the film known as Backrooms is set to premiere. It has generated a lot of buzz for being that combination of horror and science fiction, leading us to wonder: what would happen if you ended up trapped in a place where everything is yellow?
This is a movie for those who enjoy this horror genre and that mind game, as it draws heavily on those internet references and builds a horror experience based on the sensation of disorientation. Furthermore, from the very first minute, everything here is the same—the same place, all yellow—and it becomes familiar, but over time, you can start to notice shifts in mood and fear.
A medida que los años van avanzando nuevas historias de terror nacen y a la vez muchas pueden llegar a ser de verdad o de mentira, tal como lo son los Backrooms algo que se ha mencionado en muchas historias de internet, canales de YouTube y en muchos otros espacios, la cual es una imagen simple, pasillos amarillos interminables y por eso llego el momento de adaptarla y que se estrenará la película conocida como Backrooms, donde ha dado mucho de que hablar por ser esa combinación de terror con ciencia ficción y nos lleva a preguntarnos ¿qué pasaría si terminarás atrapado en un lugar donde todo es amarillo?
Esta es una película para los que le gusta este género de terror y ese juego mental, ya que toma gran parte de esas referencia del internet y construye una experiencia de terror basada en la sensación de desorientación. Además, desde el primer minuto, todo aquí es igual, un mismo lugar, todo amarillo y se convierte en algo conocido, pero que con el tiempo ya se pueden notar cambios de aptitud y de miedo.
It had been a long time since I’d heard this, and seeing how movies today draw inspiration from the classics is truly admirable. One of the things that really adds value beyond the scares is the silence of the empty hallways and the feeling that the rules of the world have stopped working. Plus, everything seems to connect in impossible ways, creating a labyrinth that defies all logic.
Each scene, despite being almost identical, conveys fear and that mix of nostalgia and anxiety that comes from being trapped in a confined space—the most agonizing feeling there is in this life. It also makes perfect use of artificial lighting and empty spaces to generate a constant sense of unease, which is why every second of the film feels more real, and as a viewer, you remain attentive to each of the mysteries surrounding this universe and the constant uncertainty about what is really happening.
Tenía mucho tiempo que no escuchaba esto y ver cómo hoy en día las películas toman referencia de cosas buenas es de admirar y una de las cosas que realmente le aporta valor más allá del susto, es ese silencio de los pasillos vacíos y de la sensación de que las reglas del mundo han dejado de funcionar, además todo parece conectarse con otra de manera imposible, creando un laberinto que desafía toda lógica.
Cada una de las escenas a pesar de ser casi iguales transmiten miedo y esa mezcla de nostalgia y ansiedad al estar en lugar encerrado, siendo lo más desesperante que existe en esta vida. Como también aprovecha perfectamente la iluminación artificial y los espacios vacíos para generar una incomodidad constante, por eso cada segundo de la película se vuelve más real y uno como espectador sigue atento a cada uno de los misterios que rodean este universo y a la incertidumbre permanente sobre lo que realmente está ocurriendo.
I really liked the result and this adaptation of Backrooms, as it offers a different take from other films in this genre and shows that you don’t always need to show too much—often, what we don’t see is far more unsettling. Plus, there’s no action here, but there is a disturbing experience that surely no one would be prepared for. So if you’re looking for something different, this is for you—and to realize that sometimes the scariest place isn’t where something is chasing you, but where it seems like you’ll never be able to find the way out.
Me gusto mucho el resultado y esta adaptación de Backrooms, ya que es una propuesta diferente del resto de las películas de este género y es una muestra de que no siempre se necesita mostrar demasiado, puesto que muchas veces, lo que no vemos resulta mucho más inquietante. Además, aquí no habrá acción, pero sí una experiencia inquietante que seguramente nadie estaría preparado para eso. Por eso si buscas algo distinto esta es para ti y darte cuenta de que a veces el lugar más aterrador no es donde hay algo persiguiéndote, sino donde parece que nunca podrás encontrar la salida.
