Una película que sin dudas estaba esperando con ansias desde que vi el trailer de promoción hace algunos meses atrás ¿Y cuál es la razón de esas ansias? bueno porque se que no soy la única fanática de las películas donde participaba la queridísima Lindsay Lohan, y pues ya había pasado muchísimo tiempo desde que la había visto actuar, aunque en realidad esta propuesta no llenaba mucho mis expectativas, solo le di la oportunidad porque quería verla haciendo lo que realmente le gusta.
A movie that I was undoubtedly looking forward to since I saw the promotional trailer a few months ago. And what is the reason for those cravings? Well, because I know that I'm not the only fan of the films where the dearest Lindsay Lohan participated, and it had been a long time since I had seen her act, although in reality this proposal did not meet my expectations very much, I only gave her the opportunity because I wanted to see her doing what she really likes.
Pero en esta ocasión no vengo hablar mucho sobre la trama que para ser bastante honesta termino siendo más de lo mismo que vemos en las películas navideñas, si no de las cosas que me gustaron y las que no tanto. En mi opinión pensé que la historia sería mucho más diferente porque esa fue la impresión que me dio cuando vi el trailer la primera vez.
But this time I'm not going to talk much about the plot, which to be quite honest ended up being more of the same thing we see in Christmas movies, but rather about the things that I liked and those that I didn't so much. In my opinion I thought the story would be much more different because that was the impression I got when I saw the trailer for the first time.
Aunque yo AMO la navidad, es mi época favorita del año, y la que más me llena de alegría y nostalgia, no siempre me terminan gustando mucho las películas navideñas porque siempre nos dan más de lo mismo, y es que mi tipo de películas son las clásicas tipo "El regalo prometido" con Arnold Schwarzenegger también la de "Solo en Casa" con Macaulay Culkin, así como los "Gremlins" y las más modernas como "Charlie y la fabrica de chocolates" "Love Actually" y "The Holiday" en lo personal me gustaron mucho porque contaron de una forma diferente lo que es o puede ser la navidad.
Although I LOVE Christmas, it's my favorite time of the year, and the one that fills me the most with joy and nostalgia, I don't always end up liking Christmas movies very much because they always give us more of the same, and that's because my kind of movies are the classics like "The Promised Gift" with Arnold Schwarzenegger, also "Home Alone" with Macaulay Culkin, as well as the "Gremlins" and the most modern ones like "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" "Love Actually" and "The Holiday "Personally, I liked them a lot because they told in a different way what Christmas is or can be.
Y esta historia que nos presentan con Lindsay de protagonista es la típica película llena de clichés desde que comienza, desde presentar a Sierra (Lindsay) como la hija rica y consentida de papa, hasta el accidente que sufre y la familia que la ayuda con un final que todos estarian esperando, no digo que este mal, pero no es algo nuevo de ver.
And this story that we are presented with Lindsay as the protagonist is the typical film full of clichés from the beginning, from presenting Sierra (Lindsay) as dad's rich and spoiled daughter, to the accident she suffers and the family that helps her with a final that everyone would be waiting for, I'm not saying it's bad, but it's not something new to see.
Lo que me gusto
What I liked
- La actuación: Fue de de las cosas que más me gusto y lo que debo resaltar de la película, porque sin duda Lindsay sigue demostrando su gran talento para la actuación, así mismo como la adoramos en Juego de gemelas, Un viernes de locos, Chicas pesadas, Confesiones de una Típica Adolescente, o Devuélveme mi suerte, para mi sigue siendo ella misma. Pero cabe decir que no solo ella estuvo a la altura, si no también Chord Overstreet como el apuesto y joven chico que la rescata y su dulce hija Olivia Pérez, que la verdad me encanto su interpretación como hija de Jake.
- The acting: It was one of the things that I liked the most and what I should highlight about the film, because without a doubt Lindsay continues to demonstrate her great acting talent, just as we adore her in The Twins, Crazy Friday, Mean girls, Confessions of a Typical Teenager, or Give me back my luck, for me she is still herself. But it must be said that not only she lived up to it, but also Chord Overstreet as the handsome young boy who rescues her and his sweet daughter Olivia Pérez, I really loved her performance as Jake's daughter.
- El personaje: A pesar de ser un personaje muy cliché pudimos ver la dulzura y frescura que siempre nos ha transmitido en pantalla Lindsay al dar vida a muchas de sus interpretaciones, tal vez con un poco de toques cosméticos en su rostro que la hacen ver mucho más mayor de lo que en realidad es, (4 años mayor que yo) pero que aún así no deja de ser lo deslumbrantemente hermosa que siempre ha sido. Sierra es una joven que esta buscando cuál es el sentido de la vida, a pesar de ser una niña consentida y rica, ella quiere algo que la haga sentirse que es útil, quiere hacer algo que ame y con mucho significado que la haga realmente feliz, más allá del dinero.
- The character: Despite being a very cliché character, we were able to see the sweetness and freshness that Lindsay has always conveyed to us on screen by giving life to many of her interpretations, perhaps with a little cosmetic touches on her face that make her look much older than she really is, (4 years older than me) but still as dazzlingly beautiful as she has always been. Sierra is a young woman who is looking for the meaning of life, despite being a spoiled and rich girl, she wants something that makes her feel useful, she wants to do something she loves and with a lot of meaning that makes her really happy, beyond money.
Lo que no me gusto
What I did not like
- La historia: No lo digo porque tenga algo malo, si no, que no me gusto la historia para el regreso de Lindsay al mundo del cine, la verdad esperaba algo mucho más fantástico, que una historia tan pero tan predecible y llena de clichés por todas partes, tanto así que sientes que ya la has visto en otra película y sabes como va a terminar la trama, porque es muy fácil de adivinar, aquí nada te sorprende y siento que no fue una buena elección para su regreso, pero igual me encanto verla actuando de nuevo.
- The story: I'm not saying it because there's something wrong, if not, I didn't like the story for Lindsay's return to the world of cinema, the truth was I was expecting something much more fantastic, than a story so, so predictable and full of clichés everywhere, so much so that you feel like you've already seen her in another movie and you know how the plot is going to end, because it's very easy to guess, nothing surprises you here and I feel like it wasn't a good choice for her return, but still I loved seeing her acting again.
- El novio Tad el influencer: Yo se que estamos en la era de las redes sociales y la tecnología, pero ¡Dios! siento que ya se ha vuelto tan repetitivo ver a un personaje tipo influencer con una actitud tan superficial y plástica, algo que se ha vuelto muy trillado en muchas películas de estos últimos dos años, que aburre completamente, pero es solo mi punto de vista y como me sentí cuando lo vi.
The boyfriend Tad the influencer: I know we are in the age of social networks and technology, but God! I feel that it has become so repetitive to see an influencer-type character with such a superficial and plastic attitude, something that has become very hackneyed in many movies in the last two years, that it is completely boring, but it is only my point of view and How did I feel when I saw it?
En general es una película normal para pasar el rato si no tienes nada que ver o si por el contrario quieres volver a ver a Lindsay haciendo lo que le gusta que es la actuación, espero poder volver a ver más trabajos interpretativos de ella pero con mejores papeles e historias porque realmente se lo merece. Estoy segura que muchos ya la han visto, si es así gracias por haber llegado hasta aquí, me gustaría conocer tu opinión sobre esta película y si no la has visto, también me gustaría saber que piensas.
