Creo que no hay una cosa más dura para una madre que perder a un bebé y más cuando era ansiosamente esperado por los padres, de eso se trata esta historia que nos trae Netflix, pero vamos a ver la forma como plasmaron el dolor de ambos padres, aunque esta es una de esas películas que podría dejar criticas muy divididas.
I think there is no harder thing for a mother than losing a baby and more when it was anxiously awaited by the parents, that's what this story that Netflix brings us is about, but we are going to see how they captured the pain of both parents, although this is one of those movies that could leave critics very divided.
Fragmentos de Mujer nos cuenta la historia de una pareja que esta esperando con ansias la llegada de su bebé, donde la futura madre Martha decide tener un parto natural desde casa, y no en el hospital, mientras llega el día esperado, su pareja Sean se encuentra siempre a su lado, apoyándola emocionalmente y en todo lo que puede mientras ella atraviesa ese doloroso y progresivo proceso de las contracciones mientras esta a la espera de su partera, quien es la que asistirá el parto.
Fragmentos de Mujer tells the story of a couple who are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby, where the mother-to-be Martha decides to have a natural childbirth at home, and not in the hospital, while the expected day arrives, her partner Sean is always by her side, supporting her emotionally and in everything he can while she goes through the painful and progressive process of contractions while waiting for her midwife, who is the one who will deliver the baby.
La escena del proceso del parto fue supremamente logrado por Vanessa en una extraordinaria presentación, llega hacer un momento desesperante y bastante dramático, es uno de los mayores momentos donde la trama te atrapa y sientes la desesperación de Martha por los fuertes dolores del parto, aunque todos los partos son diferentes yo que experimente los dolores de parto, no siento que haya llegado a ese nivel que ella plasmo, pero al ver a otras mujeres en la sala de parto aterradas y dando gritos desesperados por el dolor, puedo decir que de verdad lo interpreto extraordinariamente.
The scene of the birthing process was supremely achieved by Vanessa in an extraordinary presentation, she manages to make a desperate and quite dramatic moment, it is one of the greatest moments where the plot traps you and you feel Martha's desperation due to the strong labor pains, although all births are different, as I experienced labor pains, I don't feel that I have reached that level that she captured, but seeing other women in the delivery room terrified and screaming desperately because of the pain, I can say that she really played it extraordinarily.
Lastimosamente la bebé muere y de ahora en adelante lo que veremos será a una mujer y un hombre transitando esa dolorosa perdida, con un plano e increíble juego de cámaras donde te introducen muy sutilmente en la escena, y que te hace sentir como si estuvieras presentes en la habitación con ellos, viviendo ese momento tan intimo y tan bien plasmado en pantalla.
Sadly, the baby dies and from now on what we will see is a woman and a man going through this painful loss, with a shot and incredible game of cameras where you are subtly introduced into the scene, and that makes you feel as if you were present in the room with them, living that intimate moment and so well captured on screen.
Como mencione anteriormente lo más grandioso de la película es la destacada interpretación de Martha la protagonista (Vanessa Kirby) quien es la única que le imprime la mayor emocionalidad al film, otro momento de fuerza es una discusión entre la madre de Martha y ella, que le da bastante dramatismo y Vanessa expresa todo lo que tiene para ofrecer, pero pienso que casi la mitad de la película presenta una secuencia de escenas que se podría decir que no le dan tanta relevancia a la historia y que hace perder todo el talento de Vanessa.
As I mentioned before the greatest thing about the film is the outstanding performance of Martha the protagonist (Vanessa Kirby) who is the only one who imprints the most emotionality to the film, another moment of strength is an argument between Martha's mother and her, which gives it quite dramatic and Vanessa expresses all she has to offer, but I think that almost half of the film presents a sequence of scenes that arguably do not give so much relevance to the story and that makes lose all the talent of Vanessa.
Todo se centra en los primeros 20 minutos y el final de la película, pero no puedo dejar de mencionar desde mi punto de vista y perspectiva, lo que se quiso mostrar fue como Martha afronto este dolor prácticamente sola, sin el apoyo emocional ni de su pareja, ni de su madre, ni de su hermana, algo que para una madre primeriza es un golpe fuerte que debería enfrentar con un gran respaldo y empatía de parte de su familia.
Everything is focused on the first 20 minutes and the end of the film, but I cannot fail to mention from my point of view and perspective, what they wanted to show was how Martha faced this pain practically alone, without the emotional support of her partner, her mother or her sister, something that for a new mother is a strong blow that she should face with great support and empathy from her family.
Además se hace evidente como se van desmoronando ambos como personas, en la ambientación es notable como a su alrededor al igual que una parte de ellos va muriendo lentamente, al ver todas las plantas casi muertas y los platos sucios en el fregador sin lavar te da esa sensación de la poca importancia que tienen las cosas a su alrededor porque cada uno esta viviendo su duelo a su manera.
In addition it is evident how both are falling apart as people, in the setting it is noticeable how around them as well as a part of them is slowly dying, seeing all the almost dead plants and dirty dishes in the sink unwashed gives you that feeling of the little importance of the things around them because each one is living his grief in his own way.
Pero a pesar de todo es doloroso ver como tiene que lidiar ella sola con todo esto, porque el hombre que en un inicio se mostro muy atento y amoroso con ella, va perdiéndose en un hombre sin un mínimo de empatía exteriorizando su dolor pero de una manera demasiado atorrante, mientras ella va interiorizando su perdida de una manera fría y distante, pareciera que estuviera en otro mundo.
But in spite of everything it is painful to see how she has to deal with all this alone, because the man who at the beginning was very attentive and loving with her, is getting lost in a man without a minimum of empathy, externalizing his pain but in a way that is too embarrassing, while she is internalizing her loss in a cold and distant way, as if she were in another world.
Y bueno se podría decir que la presentación es un poco más feminista, porque nos muestra más el lado de la mujer y su dolor, que el lado del hombre dejándolo como un ser demasiado básico, tal vez hubiera funcionado un poco más si presentan más protagonismo en cuanto a como afronta su perdida, aunque la personalidad de él era un poco descuidada y pendiente de satisfacer su más íntimos deseos, sin importar las emociones de su pareja en ese momento, que en pantalla se hace bien notable que cada uno anda en sintonías diferentes.
And well, it could be said that the presentation is a little more feminist, because it shows us more the woman's side and her pain, than the man's side leaving him as a being too basic, perhaps it would have worked a little more if they presented more prominence in terms of how he faces his loss, although his personality was a little careless and pending to satisfy his most intimate desires, regardless of the emotions of his partner at that moment, which on screen is very noticeable that each one is in different tunes.
Aún sigo pensando si me gusto o no esta película, no estoy del todo segura, lo que si quiero destacar y aplaudir es la increíble actuación de su protagonista, ojala le hubieran permitido mostrar mucho más, porque al leer el titulo te da la ilusión de que vamos a ir recogiendo poco a poco los pedazos de una mujer rota por dentro, que tenía un amplio terreno por recorrer, siento que le quedo mucho más por mostrar aunque eso no le quita un merecido premio.
I'm still thinking if I liked or not this film, I'm not entirely sure, what I do want to highlight and applaud is the incredible performance of its protagonist, I wish she had been allowed to show much more, because reading the title gives you the illusion that we will be gradually picking up the pieces of a broken woman inside, who had a wide field to go, I feel that she had much more to show but that does not take away a deserved award.
