What happens when a person is not capable of feeling empathy? What would happen if as a parent you find out that your son is a murderer? Would you report him to the police or would you support him? Maybe you have the answer to each of these questions or maybe not, I just wanted to tell you that today's series has something like that, a story that I did not know what it was about, which caught my attention because it contains a very simple synopsis but At the same time intriguing, THE FLOWER OF EVIL, a suspenseful series with a very broad panorama that is difficult to decipher, was released in 2020 and you can currently find it on Netflix.

-
A man who leads an almost perfect life next to his family has a dark past involved in a series of crimes, he is married to a detective who soon begins to investigate a serial killer and will take it upon himself to discover the truth of what happened and find the accomplice to these horrible homicides.

¿De qué trata?

The scene begins with a man drowning in a pool with his hands tied, and a woman who appears to save him but fails to get him out of the water. Then the same couple appears on the scene on a normal day in a craft workshop, they are two young husbands Cha Ji-won, a detective from the violent crimes unit and her husband Baek Hee Sung, a metal craftsman, together they have a beautiful 6-year-old girl. 6 years old Eunha

-
They lead a normal life where they show that they love each other very much and are a great team as a couple. Baek Hee Sung enjoys his work as a craftsman and his role as a father because he takes care of the housework and taking his daughter to school since his wife works long hours in the day.

-
Everything is going well until a murder occurs which is immediately related to a case about the Yeonju serial killer named Do Min-seok, an event that happened 18 years ago, where the murderer had the habit of removing his victims' nails. , in addition to following other very marked patterns in the bodies of the deceased.

-
This is when a Pandora's box opens that will be very difficult to close later, it all starts when Cha Ji-won is assigned to the Yeonju homicide case and little by little we will discover that Baek Hee Sung is not really who he claims to be, actually who What is hiding behind this facade is Do Hyun Soo, the son of serial killer Do Min-seok, who committed the crimes 18 years ago, but what is Do Hyun Soo hiding? Is he really a murderer equal to his father? Did you help in the murders your father committed? Is he really just as macabre and cruel as his father? How did he manage to hide for so many years without anyone finding out? How did he manage to marry a detective without her knowing who he really is?

-
There are many questions that come up throughout the series, from chapter one in the pool the question arises, what happened? How did they get to that situation?

Trama
-
A very well written script that does not bore you, on the contrary, it keeps you in suspense throughout the plot, each chapter brings new discoveries that make you throw away all the hypotheses that you have been making to unravel all this web of lies where our protagonist is submerged. They don't know how many times I tried to figure out what would happen but it always ended in a failed attempt, which keeps the viewer glued to the screen with the desire to discover the truth.

-
The story is in charge of developing each character very well, exploring their past and letting us know their deepest desires, you will know the reasons that move them to do what they do and what their ambitions are, each one has different reasons for acting while others only they do it out of pure instinct, while we have our heroes who are looking to discover the truth and a suspect who you don't quite discover who he really is.

Mi opinión/My opinion
-
I loved this series, I can safely say that it is equal to the plot of LA GLORIA, in what sense? It is something out of the ordinary to what we are used to in Korean series, it has very well dosed elements such as violence, desperation, intrigue, mystery, drama, revenge, pain, injustice and even small doses of romance that balances the story very well and that makes you pull your hair out and your heart race with each chapter.
-
The intensity of each scene leaves you breathless, here we are not talking about villains or bad characters but about psychopaths, it is another way of seeing how the reality we live in works, where many times a person kills just for pleasure, maybe something genetic or something that happened in his childhood that could never be corrected, this makes the story more creepy and the best part is the interpretation of each villain and how they built each character, each one deserves applause for their wonderful way of bringing it to life, masterful.
-
There is no moment where you do not despair to know if Do Hyun Soo's current life is real or a complete fake, if he really loves his family or it is all for the facade, you are dying to know who are his parents? How did you manage to get a false identity? How is it that he has been able to live in the shadows like a normal person? What is he hiding from his past? Is he innocent or guilty? Is it bad or good? This makes you want to get to the end of the story to find out how everything is resolved and confirm who the culprit really is.

-
The story plays a lot with flashbacks that help us to know how Do Hyun Soo and his wife met, how he managed to obtain his identity, what his childhood was like and the complex relationship he had with his father, this allows us to learn more about not only Do Hyun Soo and his interests but also the rest of the characters. The plot is loaded with unexpected twists that will make you jump out of your seat.

Personajes
-
And without leaving behind the magnificent performances that are deserving of an award, I loved the strong chemistry that exists in the leading couple and that goes beyond the screen, they transmit emotions so real that you get into the skin of each character, you can feel the pain, each tear, and the impotence that each one is experiencing.

-
Lee Joon-gi is extraordinary in his role as Baek Hee-sung as Do Hyun Soo, he makes your chest ache for everything he has to live and endure due to his dark past, I think if he was a crybaby the series would already me It would have made a trip of tears, because there are moments between him and his wife that are desperate, in addition to being captivating, he also has his terrifying side, because he can change his mood from happy to violent in a matter of seconds, they are the two sides of the coin in his secret and real life.

-
And Moon Chae-won as the wife and detective Cha Ji-won is great in her performance, you understand her anguish and despair at not being able to figure out what is true and what is not, because the evidence sometimes shows her the opposite of what her feelings are. They tell her, she is in a constant struggle to discover the truth and to understand her husband's past that always puts doubt on the table. And I can't stop mentioning her daughter Jung Seo Yeon as Baek Eun Ha is the one who brings sweetness to all this crazy story with phrases that have beautiful messages and a precious relationship she has with her father.

-
I would like to talk about the performance of one of the villains but it would be doing a lot of spoilers, although we must highlight the work of Baek Hee-sung's parents, the truth is that each one gave a great performance, and the psychopaths who gave life to the villains villains are to give you goosebumps.

-
It is a series that I recommend if you like to see criminal cases, fights, serial killers, suspense and mystery, with a small dose of love, for me it is one of the best series I have seen, just like La Gloria, it has excellent actors, a very rich script, different environments and locations, and a soundtrack that gives the plot the perfect touch of suspense, it is a story that has everything, I can even say that it is one of my favorites because it knows how to mix drama with the suspense.
-
I loved the contrast between Baek Hee-sung's house and Cha Ji-won's house because it was cozy, Hee-sung's workshop was on the first floor and his beautiful home was on the top floor. And we also have Baek Hee-sung's childhood home that undoubtedly showed how terrifying that moment in his life was with his sister and his father and everything they had to go through,
Mensaje de la historia
Finally I would like to talk about the message that history conveys to us. It is impossible to hide your past no matter how much you try to disguise it, although in many cases this does not define who you are as a person, everything is in you and in the desire you have to get ahead and be a better version of yourself even if you are still learning to know yourself. Trust is the triple knotted rope that holds a relationship together, you have to work every day to strengthen it because this helps create a solid foundation and a strong marriage.
Corruption is the greatest evil in the world, money and ambition are a terrible disease, not accepting the consequences of the actions of our loved ones for fear of losing banal things like money or status is what leads to ruin any human being. Children must be taught to assume the consequences of their actions, no matter how painful the moment may be, because this will help create a responsible person who is aware that the things they do will have consequences, not only for them but also for their loved ones. dear ones
Thank you very much for having come this far, let me know in the comments if you have already seen it, what you thought and if you have not seen it, comment on whether you would see it or not, I will be happy to read you.
