Yesterday I happened to find this movie playing on the TV at night and decided to watch it again. It was not the first time I watched this movie but honestly, I don't even remember when was the last time I watched it. Probably around 4-5 years ago so it has been a while.
The movie begins with an experiment in the LHC in Switzerland when they suddenly capture a small portion of antimatter, which will trigger a very complex criminal complot to take down the entire Catholic Church. The enemies of the church are actually very ancient and are looking for revenge. I am sure we have heard them in conspiracy theories. they are the Illuminati.
Here is where Hank's character makes his appearance to help in preventing these attacks that could kill millions of innocent lives. These Illuminati fellows seem to love leaving clues here and there, which is something that a lot of "villains" love to do in movies.

Instead of simply going with their plans in silence in order to increase their chances of success, they have the need to leave hints in their messages, as if what they actually wanted was to lose and go to jail. This makes little sense. However, in this case, there is a big reason why the Illuminati make a big fuss out of their plans and this will be understood in the final scenes.
Throughout the entire movie, we see every character rushing everywhere because they are currently under attack. There is a lot of tension and the only way to win is for Hank's character to crack the clues and destroy the Illuminati's plans.
The movie is of very high quality and this is noticeable in the beautiful shots from Rome and the good casting, especially Hank and McGregor. The plot is exciting which makes this movie a very enjoyable experience.

The best
- Amazing twist right at the end.
- A lot of intense moments throughout the entire film.
- Hanks does a good performance, but it is McGregor who stands out the most in his supporting role. His character is much more complex.
The worst
- The villains were extremely talented and precise while the "good guys" were rather normal people. There was a little bit of imbalance in skills I would say.
