The movie was produced for the Amazon Prime Video streaming service and I had high hopes about it. I remember last year they also released the second part of the Borat film, which is a similar type of comedy, and in that case, I found it very enjoyable.
With Coming 2 America however, I didn't enjoy it as much. The film had a lot of attempts at funny dialogues and scenes, but for some reason, I almost didn't laugh watching this film. I mean, the story is clearly a comedy but its humor wasn't really effective in my opinion.
La película fue producida para el servicio de transmisión de video Amazon Prime y tenía grandes esperanzas al respecto. Recuerdo que el año pasado también lanzaron la segunda parte de la película de Borat, que es un tipo de comedia similar, y en ese caso, la encontré muy divertida.
Sin embargo, con Coming 2 America, no lo disfruté tanto. La película tuvo muchos intentos de diálogos y escenas divertidas, pero por alguna razón, casi no me reí al ver esta película. Quiero decir, la historia es claramente una comedia, pero su humor no fue realmente efectivo en mi opinión.
While the new prince about to become a king is trying to deal with all of this, he suddenly learns thanks to his country's main witcher, that he has a bastard son in America from the time when he visited that country.
This is the main topic of the movie, how will the new king deal with his bastard son and how can this guy be integrated into his royal ways. The king will face both family and political challenges, and important changes will have to be made to make everyone happy.
The movie ends with all characters dancing at a party so have that in mind it's all very very silly. It is a good movie to mindlessly watch if you are in the mood for a silly comedy, but sadly, at least in my case, it wasn't all that funny. It is not that I don't enjoy the comedy genre, I do, I think the Borat films have hilarious scenes, mainly thanks to its black comedy, and some Argentinian movies I have seen in the past couple of years like My Masterpiece or Heroic Losers were incredibly funny. This time, I think the comedy should have been better.
Mientras el nuevo príncipe a punto de convertirse en rey está tratando de lidiar con todo esto, de repente se entera gracias al brujo principal de su país, que tiene un hijo bastardo en América de cuando visitó ese país.
Este es el tema principal de la película, cómo tratará el nuevo rey a su hijo bastardo y cómo puede integrarse este muchacho en sus costumbres reales. El rey enfrentará desafíos tanto familiares como políticos, y deberán realizarse cambios importantes para hacer felices a todos.
La película termina con todos los personajes bailando en una fiesta, así que tenlo en cuenta, todo es muy, muy tonto. Es una buena película para ver sin pensar mucho si estás de humor para una comedia tonta, pero lamentablemente, al menos en mi caso, no fue tan divertido. No es que no me guste el género de la comedia, sí me gustan, creo que las películas de Borat tienen escenas divertidísimas, principalmente gracias a su comedia negra, y algunas películas argentinas que he visto en los últimos años como Mi obra maestra o Heroic Losers fueron increíblemente divertidas. Esta vez, creo que la comedia debería haber sido mejor.
