The main reason why I decided to watch the show was that the premise looked like something I could enjoy. The story takes place in the future, where only robots inhabit our planet Earth, there are no humans anymore. One day, a cryogenic capsule is suddenly found by 2 robots and inside the capsule, they find a very small human kid.
The dystopian settings contrasted greatly with its happyish animation style which for me made it look like something very unique and worth watching. Before discussing the plot at length, as well as the good and the bad things I noticed, let's first give a quick mention to the main creators of the show.

I thought this series was made by Americans, but the majority of the creators are actually Japanese. The director of the series is Yasuhiro Irie, he has some good experience directing other anime productions but this is the first one in the last 5 years. It seems like he is coming out of a sabbatical period, and what a better way to do it with a Netflix show. Some of his previous works as a director were for the series Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, and Soul Eater.
The show has 2 writers, one of them is Justin Leach who doesn't have any experience as a writer but have worked in other animated production as a producer or in the animation department. I believe Eden is the production where he has had the most responsibility in his entire career.
The other writer is Kimiko Ueno, he has a lot of experience as a writer but most of the productions where he has worked aren't very well-known. Some of his recent works were in Little Witch Academia and Carole & Tuesday.
When it comes to the actors and actresses, I really cannot give an opinion about the people involved because I watched the dubbed version. However, I did enjoy the way the robot dialogues were portrayed and how this was used for good funny lines.
In conclusion, we have a series with a director best known for working in the Fullmetal Alchemist series, and 2 writers, 1 without any previous experience working as a writer, and the other one with experience but in lesser-known shows. I believe the lack of a writing top talent had a negative in the show as I will explain in the next section of the post.
La principal razón por la que decidí ver el programa fue porque la premisa parecía algo que podía disfrutar. La historia tiene lugar en el futuro, donde solo los robots habitan en nuestro planeta Tierra, ya no hay humanos. Un día, 2 robots encuentran repentinamente una cápsula criogénica y dentro de la cápsula encuentran una niña humana muy pequeña.
Los escenarios distópicos contrastaban enormemente con el estilo de animación alegre, que para mí hizo que pareciera algo muy único y digno de ver. Antes de discutir la trama en profundidad, así como las cosas buenas y malas que noté, primero mencionemos brevemente a los principales creadores del programa.

En conclusión, tenemos una serie con un director más conocido por trabajar en la serie Fullmetal Alchemist, y 2 escritores, 1 sin experiencia previa trabajando como escritor, y el otro con experiencia pero con programas menos conocidos. Creo que la falta de un gran talento en trabajos de escritura tuvo un efecto negativo en el programa, como explicaré en la siguiente sección del post.

What was the series about?
The series begins with a couple of robots working in a field making sure the plants and trees are in good health. Everything seems clean and efficient, the robots are extremely organized and do everything properly.
Soon enough, they discover the cryogenic capsule and find a little girl inside it. The robots aren't completely sure about their past. Some of them despise humans, others aren't even sure humans existed in the first place, and others are sure they existed and have created something like a mythology around the human figure.
The reasons for the absence of humans are easy to guest for people familiar with apocalyptic scenarios. However, the presence of this child inside a cryogenic capsule means there must be something more related to humans out there. She cannot be the only one.
The 2 robots that found the child get scared because they are living in a zone where the robots in control don't like anything related to humans. There is a totalitarian government that threatens weaker robots by reprogramming them if they don't follow the rules. Finding a human child and not reporting the incident would be a break of the rules.
At the beginning of the show, the viewer can see several articles that rule the robot's behaviors, such as not to hurt humans, and to cooperate with other robots in a friendly manner. Maybe it was this programming that caused the 2 robots to decide to protect the child instead of reporting it.
They begin to learn about how a human works, and the number of funny dialogues during these moments was super fun. The robots can speak both human and robot languages, but when they express themselves in human languages they do so in a clumsy way. It is easy to understand them but sometimes it is funny as hell. I believe this was the first time I saw clumsy robot dialogues used as a comedy but it worked great.
Something I noticed, and maybe this only applies to the dubbed version I watched but I doubt it, is that the girl ends up speaking as a regular human and not in a robotic manner with basic verb conjugations. This decision was understandable for simple reasons but not realistic in my opinion. If a person has never heard how normal humans talk and this person only talks with robots using basic and clumsy expressions, then this person would also end up talking robotically. However, the main character talks like a normal person for the entire show.
In order to protect both the child and themselves, the 2 robots decide to leave this area and look for someplace else to live there. They follow some coordinates and find an area where a bunch of robots are living and they all love humans for being their creators. This place will be used as a hideout in order to raise the human child without any close danger.

La serie comienza con un par de robots trabajando en un campo asegurándose de que las plantas y los árboles estén en buen estado de salud. Todo parece limpio y eficiente, los robots están extremadamente organizados y hacen todo correctamente.
Muy pronto, descubren la cápsula criogénica y encuentran a una niña dentro de ella. Los robots no están completamente seguros de su pasado. Algunos de ellos desprecian a los humanos, otros ni siquiera están seguros de que los humanos existieron en primer lugar, y otros están seguros de que existieron y han creado algo así como una mitología alrededor de la figura humana.

Empiezan a aprender cómo trabaja un humano, y la cantidad de diálogos graciosos durante estos momentos fue súper divertido. Los robots pueden hablar tanto lenguajes humanos como lenguaje robots, pero cuando se expresan en lenguajes humanos lo hacen de forma torpe. Es fácil de entender, pero a veces es muy gracioso. Creo que esta fue la primera vez que vi diálogos torpes de robots utilizados como comedia, pero funcionó de maravilla.
Algo que noté, y tal vez esto solo se aplique a la versión doblada que vi, pero lo dudo, es que la niña termina hablando como un humano normal y no de manera robótica con conjugaciones verbales básicas. Esta decisión fue comprensible por razones de simplicidad, pero no es realista en mi opinión. Si una persona nunca ha escuchado cómo hablan los humanos normales y esta persona solo habla con robots usando expresiones básicas y torpes, entonces esta persona también terminaría hablando de forma robótica. Sin embargo, el personaje principal habla como una persona normal durante todo el show.
Para proteger tanto a la niña como a ellos mismos, los 2 robots deciden abandonar esta área y buscar otro lugar para vivir allí. Siguen algunas coordenadas y encuentran un área donde viven un montón de robots y todos aman a los humanos por ser sus creadores. Este lugar se utilizará como escondite para criar a la niña humana sin ningún peligro cercano.

The main enemy are the anti-human robots, who have very scary looks, and act in a ver totalitarian manner. The series will have some good twists along the way, and it will only provide some glimpses related to what happened in the past.
There is one important thing that I didn't like and it is the fact this show felt rushed. I believe only 4 short episodes weren't enough to properly tell this story and throughout the entire series, I constantly felt the viewer was being rushed through important events. This isn't an entirely serious series because comedy is a big part of it, especially in the beginning, but it is my belief this show needed more time to tell its story in a proper way. The basic idea of the plot was intriguing but the way it was produced left me a bit underwhelmed.
I don't know if the creators had some type of constraint and they could only produce 4 episodes so they were forced to fix the story using so little time, or if they decided to just create the show this way because they preferred it like this. This is where I think lacking a top writing talent reduced the quality of the show. Nevertheless, I had a good time watching it and I believe the Eden world has the potential for some spin-offs.

The settings were nicely designed. The new world is all pretty, full of healthy plants and food. Everything seems peaceful and clean, and sometimes there is a nice touch of antiques. The animation was acceptable, it makes it very clear at first glance this show isn't dark or sad in the least.
However, what makes this show memorable is the funny interactions between the child and the robots in the first 2 episodes. Once the main character reaches adulthood, there are still a couple of funny scenes but the majority of them happen when she is small. It was a very creative comedy and most people will probably enjoy it.

Eden is a fun animated series that could have been much better if the plot didn't feel rushed. It provides a dystopic scenario but doesn't do it in a worrisome way but rather in a playful way. The series is enjoyable if you are looking for a nonserious and nondeep story. It is good to relax for a bit while watching some comedy and later on, it will provide interesting twists and some touching moments as well. If you are a fan of animated productions, you should definitely check this series out.

El principal enemigo son los robots antihumanos, que tienen un aspecto muy aterrador y actúan de manera muy totalitaria. La serie tendrá algunos buenos giros en el camino, y solo proporcionará algunos destellos relacionados con lo que sucedió en el pasado.
Hay una cosa importante que no me gustó y es el hecho de que este programa se sintió apresurado. Creo que solo 4 episodios cortos no fueron suficientes para contar correctamente esta historia y, a lo largo de toda la serie, sentí constantemente que el espectador estaba siendo apresurado a través de eventos importantes. Esta no es una serie del todo seria porque la comedia es una gran parte de ella, especialmente al principio, pero creo que este programa necesitaba de más tiempo para contar su historia de una manera adecuada. La idea básica de la trama era intrigante, pero la forma en que se produjo me dejó un poco decepcionado.
No sé si los creadores tenían algún tipo de restricción y solo podían producir 4 episodios, por lo que se vieron obligados a arreglar la historia usando tan poco tiempo, o si decidieron simplemente crear el programa de esta manera porque lo preferían así. Aquí es donde creo que la falta de un gran talento escritor redujo la calidad del programa. Sin embargo, me lo pasé bien viéndolo y creo que el mundo de Eden tiene el potencial para algunos spin-offs.

Los escenarios estaban muy bien diseñados. El nuevo mundo es hermoso, lleno de plantas y alimentos saludables. Todo parece tranquilo y limpio, y a veces hay un toque agradable de objetos antiguos. La animación fue aceptable, deja muy claro a primera vista que este programa no es oscuro ni triste en lo más mínimo.
Sin embargo, lo que hace que este programa sea memorable son las divertidas interacciones entre la niña y los robots en los primeros 2 episodios. Una vez que el personaje principal llega a la edad adulta, todavía hay un par de escenas divertidas, pero la mayoría de ellas ocurren cuando ella es pequeña. Fue una comedia muy creativa y la mayoría de la gente probablemente la disfrutará.

Eden es una divertida serie animada que podría haber sido mucho mejor si la trama no se sintiera apresurada. Proporciona un escenario distópico, pero no lo hace de una manera preocupante sino de una manera lúdica. La serie es agradable si buscas una historia que no sea seria ni profunda. Es bueno relajarse un poco mientras se ve algo de comedia y, más adelante, proporcionará giros interesantes y también algunos momentos conmovedores. Si eres fanático de las producciones animadas, definitivamente deberías echarle un vistazo a esta serie.
