Since I watched the first season I have been thinking this Lupin character could have been a perfect member of the Ocean's gang. I am talking about the group of talented robbers from the Ocean's trilogy that are always robbing casinos in the most insane ways. Lupin would fit perfectly with those characters.
The first season ended with a cliffhanger that left the main character in a very complicated situation, probably the most challenging one he has faced in a long time. I enjoyed the first season enough and was expecting to enjoy the second one as well.

Since this is a French series, there won't be many well-known people working on it. However, I do think most viewers will be able to recognize the main actor Omar Sy because he achieved a high level of popularity thanks to a movie he did several years ago called The Intouchables. He has also participated in other good films such as Inferno, Jurassic World, and X-Men: Days of Future Past.
The series has 4 different directors which was kind of surprising because there are only 10 episodes and the tone among the episodes doesn't really feel much different. Louis Leterrier is one of the directors and he has worked in excellent films in the past. Now You See Me, and The Incredible Hulk are hist 2 most popular movies that I am sure most people have seen or at least heard of.
Another director is Hugo Gélin, this one doesn't really have much experience and Lupin is the most important production where he was worked as a director. His other productions are either short videos or little-known films or series that didn't get much traction.
There is also Ludovic Bernard, who doesn't have much experience as a director, but he does have a lot of experience working as an assistant director, which I believe should be of big help when working as the main director of a film or series. As the main director, just as in the case of Hugo, he doesn't have much experience. Lupin is the most important production, and the other ones are very unknown movies. On the other hand, he has worked as an assistant director in major productions such as Lucy, Taken 2, Taken 3 among other ones.
Finally, we have Marcela Said, who also directed 2 episodes of the Narcos series from Netflix. That series and Lupin are her 2 most important jobs so far as a director.
When it comes to the writers, there are too many to mention them all but the main creator of the show is George Kay. He has been constantly working as a writer for TV series since the mid-2000s. He worked in a couple of episodes of the series Killing Eve, and in many other major shows such as My Mad Fat Diary and the Criminal anthology series. This person has been very successful so far, and Lupin is probably his most important success.

What was the series about?
The series follows the main character called Assane Diop. He is an adult man who has an obsession with the fictional Lupin character since he was a little boy. Lupin is a character from books that always figures out a way to get away with his plans. He is a robber but he doesn't physically hurt people. It could be said he is a robber with strong ethics.
Assane has some trauma in the past because his father was falsely accused of a crime, and this ended up causing his death by suicide. He knew his father was innocent and makes his life mission to clean the name of his father and bring the real criminal to justice.
The person who falsely accused his father decades in the past is a very powerful and wealthy man. He has good contacts inside the police and is also friends with powerful politicians, so he is well protected and can pretty much do whatever he wants.
Assane begins to learn about Lupin by reading all of his books. He gets obsessed with becoming the real-life embodiment of the Lupin character, and with enough time, he does become a super talented robber. One that is always ahead of anybody else.
As I mentioned before, the first season ended with a cliffhanger moment and it was the first time we saw this character really worried and with a disadvantaged position. However, his problems don't usually last much. There is always an ingenious solution waiting for him to discover it, and what's crazier is that he usually comes out with his plans on his own. He has a good friend that helps him, but this friend is just a regular guy and not really an expert robber like Assane.
Throughout the show, Assane is seen by the public and by the police as a dangerous criminal. They don't know what Assane is really doing, and much less who the real criminals are. Assane will need to battle not only this wrong image of him, that forces him to hide from the police but also the criminal group who is willing to do anything to silence him.
When I watched the first season I thought his skills were exaggerated. I mean, I have never seen a robber being so many steps ahead of everyone else, not even the Ocean's trilogy is like that. Assane can be in the most difficult situation and always finds a way to trick his adversaries as if they were children. This happened in the first season, but during the second season, this exaggeration got even worse.

The series is full of moments like that where Assane easily outsmarts everyone else. After a while, it gets tiresome because everyone else ends up looking a bit dumb every time they face Assane, and it isn't like his tricks are mind-blowing every single time.
Season 2 finishes the main plot that began in season 1 and does it in a satisfactory manner, but I guess there can be enough potential stories left for a new season. However, I am not sure this show can continue to be enjoyable enough with all that exaggeration related to Assane's skills.

Omar Sy is a very charismatic author so no wonder why he was chosen to play the Lupin character. He does a good job for the most part, but in a handful of moments, his performance seemed a bit artificial and not entirely authentic. The rest of the cast was ok too, nothing great but the performances were acceptable.
The settings were good. The show happens in the same city but there will be events inside catacombs, in an isolated huge house, and of course inside fancy buildings. The settings were completely appropriated for the type of story we were watching.
The camera work didn't feel very special. There was a good transition when Assane is getting inside a huge box, but apart from that, the camera work was very normal. I didn't like the fact that some of the important tricks from Assane happen off-camera, but since they are usually exaggerated I guess it was too hard to show them on the screen in a credible manner.

Lupin can be a good show to watch, and it will be fun in the beginning, but I think that with time some viewers might become bored with it. There is nothing that can stop Assane from fulfilling his plans, and even the use of basic tricks can save him from difficult situations.
I would recommend giving it a try if it seems like something it can entertain you, and if you get bored with it, have in mind there are no surprises in the show so it is easy to guess what will happen in the end.
La serie está llena de momentos como ese en los que Assane supera fácilmente a todos los demás. Después de un tiempo, se vuelve aburrido porque todos los demás terminan pareciendo un poco tontos cada vez que se enfrentan a Assane, y no es como si sus trucos fueran muy alucinantes.
