One of the things I like the most about Netflix is the fact they invest in productions from all over the world and from all types of countries. I have seen a few great Spanish productions from Netflix such as a movie called The Platform, another one called The Occupant and the series called Money Heist. These are 3 great examples of Spanish content I have seen in recent times.

The way Netflix fills up its platform with new content allows for people from all over the world to have a chance in entertaining a huge audience. One of my favorite series is Dark which is a German production and I am pretty sure that if it wasn't for Netflix that time traveling masterpiece wouldn't be even half as popular as it is.

Spain has always produced their own film and series but I only started to pay attention to them in recent times and only thanks to the streaming services, mainly Netflix of course. I would say The Innocent is easily among the best Spanish production you can find, and for a lot of people, this will probably even be one of their favorite series.

Main names associated with the series

As I mentioned before, I only started to pay attention to Spanish productions not too long ago so I am not entirely familiar with their popular actors and actresses because I only know a handful of them. However, it was while watching one of the films I mentioned at the beginning, The Occupant, when I last remember seeing the actor Mario Casas playing a role but his career has a lot of productions throughout the years, he is certainly one of the most active actors of his country. The first time I saw this actor was probably in the film called The Invisible Guest. In this series, he plays the main character in the story in what is surely the most important production of his career.

Aura Garrido is another important actress in this series, she is known mainly for acting in a comedy series called The Ministry of Time but she also has productions coming out every year with her as a member of the cast, however, most of these productions are little known.

Alexandra Jiménez plays what I consider to be the third most important character, although as I will explain below, this series has many important characters, and deciding which one is the third more important can be up to discussion. Just as in the case of Aura Garrido, Alexandra is a very active actress with new productions coming out every year with her playing a role. The main production and the only time I have watched her was with the great comedy film called Toc Toc. She also participated in the series The Ministry of Time but only with a minor role.

Una de las cosas que más me gustan de Netflix es que invierten en producciones de todo el mundo y de todo tipo de países. He visto algunas grandes producciones españolas de Netflix como una película llamada El Hoyo, otra llamada Hogar y la serie llamada La Casa de Papel. Estos son 3 grandes ejemplos de contenido español que he visto en los últimos tiempos.

La forma en que Netflix llena su plataforma con contenido nuevo permite que personas de todo el mundo tengan la oportunidad de entretener a una gran audiencia. Una de mis series favoritas es Dark, que es una producción alemana y estoy bastante seguro de que si no fuera por Netflix, esta obra maestra del viaje en el tiempo no sería ni la mitad de popular de lo que es.

España siempre ha producido películas y series propias, pero solo comencé a prestarles atención en los últimos tiempos y solo gracias a los servicios de streaming, principalmente Netflix por supuesto. Yo diría que El Inocente se encuentra fácilmente entre las mejores producciones españolas que puedes encontrar, y para mucha gente, probablemente sea una de sus series favoritas.

Nombres principales asociados a la serie

Como mencioné antes, solo comencé a prestar atención a las producciones españolas no hace mucho, por lo que no estoy del todo familiarizado con sus actores y actrices populares porque solo conozco a un puñado de ellos. Sin embargo, fue mientras veía una de las películas que mencioné al principio, Hogar, cuando recuerdo haber visto por última vez al actor Mario Casas interpretando un papel, pero su carrera tiene muchas producciones a lo largo de los años, sin duda es una de las más actores activos de su país. La primera vez que vi a este actor fue probablemente en la película llamada Contratiempo. En esta serie, interpreta al personaje principal de la historia en la que seguramente sea la producción más importante de su carrera.

Aura Garrido es otra actriz importante en esta serie, es conocida principalmente por actuar en una serie de comedia llamada El Ministerio del Tiempo pero también tiene producciones que salen cada año con ella como miembro del elenco, sin embargo, la mayoría de estas producciones son poco conocidas.

Alexandra Jiménez interpreta al que considero el tercer personaje más importante, aunque como explicaré a continuación, esta serie tiene muchos personajes importantes, y decidir cuál es el tercero más importante puede ser tema de discusión. Al igual que en el caso de Aura Garrido, Alexandra es una actriz muy activa con nuevas producciones cada año en las que ella interpreta un papel. La producción principal y la única vez que la he visto fue con la gran película de comedia llamada Toc Toc. También participó en la serie el Ministerio del Tiempo pero solo con un papel menor.

The director is Oriol Paulo who has previously directed 2 great films with awesome twists, one is called The Body, which was one of the first Spanish films that ended up blowing my mind away, and the other one is the aforementioned The Invisible Guest where Mario Casas plays the main role. This director has proved to be quite talented in creating stories with enough suspense and great twists. The Innocent is no different and I believe it is his most ambitious production so far.

What was the series about?

The Innocent is a series about several characters with troubled backstories joining together and creating one of the most puzzling and surprising crime dramas I have seen in a long time. Everything began in one night when a silly fight is started at a disco and one of the immature guys who started it gets killed by accident. The guy who pushed him, the main character, didn't want to kill him but that doesn't matter, it is still considered a crime and he must go to jail.

This guy is no criminal or anything like that, and being jailed will be a deeply changing experience but at least he survived it. After he gets out, his new life will begin and he will do everything he can to get back to normal and achieve a productive peaceful life. Just when everything seems to be going great with his girlfriend, things will quickly change and old dramas will come back to life.

The series is full of surprises, twists, mysteries, and everything you can imagine to make the viewer wonder about what is really happening. The plot is much more complex than what it appears to be in the beginning and thankfully, every single question and doubt gets answered in the end.

This is a very intricated story and in order to understand the decisions of some of its main characters, each episode will provide us a background story of a certain character which is key in the events of the corresponding episode. We will have the background story of the main character obviously, his girlfriend, the detective, and many more characters that will help us understand why did so many harsh events take place.

Thanks to this way of explaining the plot, the character development is top-notch and one of the best things about the series. I don't even remember when was the last time I saw a series with such good character development to be honest.

The series isn't really an action story but rather a mystery coupled with drama and thriller. Each episode will reveal new information so there aren't boring episodes or anything close to that. All of the episodes are intense enough to keep the viewers interested in the story.

El director es Oriol Paulo, quien anteriormente ha dirigido 2 grandes películas con giros argumentales asombrosos, una se llama El Cuerpo, que fue una de las primeras películas españolas que terminaron volviéndome loco, y la otra es la ya mencionada Contratiempo donde Mario Casas juega el papel principal. Este director ha demostrado ser bastante talentoso a la hora de crear historias con bastante suspenso y grandes giros argumentales. El Inocente no es diferente y creo que es su producción más ambiciosa hasta ahora.

¿De qué trataba la serie?

El Inocente es una serie sobre varios personajes con antecedentes problemáticos que se unen y crean uno de los dramas criminales más desconcertantes y sorprendentes que he visto en mucho tiempo. Todo comenzó en una noche cuando se inicia una pelea tonta en una discoteca y uno de los tipos inmaduros que la inició muere por accidente. El tipo que lo empujó, el personaje principal, no quiso matarlo pero eso no importa, so se considera un crimen y debe ir a la cárcel.

Este tipo no es un criminal ni nada por el estilo, y ser encarcelado será una experiencia profundamente cambiante, pero al menos lo sobrevivió. Después de que salga, comenzará su nueva vida y hará todo lo posible para volver a la normalidad y lograr una vida productiva y pacífica. Justo cuando todo parece ir bien con su novia, las cosas cambiarán rápidamente y los viejos dramas volverán a la vida.

La serie está llena de sorpresas, giros, misterios y todo lo que puedas imaginar para que el espectador se pregunte sobre lo que realmente está sucediendo. La trama es mucho más compleja de lo que parece al principio y, afortunadamente, cada pregunta y duda se responde al final.

Esta es una historia muy intrincada y para entender las decisiones de algunos de sus personajes principales, cada episodio nos proporcionará una historia de fondo de un personaje determinado que es clave en los eventos del episodio correspondiente. Tendremos la historia de fondo del personaje principal, obviamente, su novia, la detective y muchos más personajes que nos ayudarán a entender por qué sucedieron tantos eventos duros.

Gracias a esta forma de explicar la trama, el desarrollo de los personajes es de primera y una de las mejores cosas de la serie. Ni siquiera recuerdo cuándo fue la última vez que vi una serie con tan buen desarrollo de personajes para ser honesto.

La serie no es realmente una historia de acción, sino más bien un misterio con drama y suspenso. Cada episodio revelará nueva información para que no haya episodios aburridos ni nada parecido. Todos los episodios son lo suficientemente intensos como para mantener a los espectadores interesados en la historia.

There are so many twists and surprises that eventually it kind of stop being surprising to the viewer. When every episode introduces a big change one gets a bit saturated with so many twists. However, the series never stops being entertaining or intriguing, it only stops being surprising because it becomes normal to expect a new surprise.

Something I didn't like was one particular death because the way it happened was super idiotic and no person in real life would be so slow to take the risk this character took in such a difficult circumstance. I won't name which character is this one, but if you see the series and you become frustrated after seeing a very silly murder, you will know which one I am talking about.

This is a mini-series so the story only lasts this one season and despite its complex plot, everything will become clear once we reach the end of the final episode. This series was a hell of a trip and a super enjoyable experience that I bet most people will like.

How were the performance from the cast, the settings and the camera work?

The performance from all the members of the cast was awesome. There are a lot of crimes so dramatic performances were all over the place and they were always convincing enough. This series has some strong scenes so having a believable dramatic performance from some members of the cast was extremely important. They all did a good job in their roles and the quality of the entire series was just top-notch.

The settings were normal, I mean most of the events take place in a regular city so there was nothing special about that. When it comes to the camera work, it was just good, again nothing really special about it.

Final thoughts

The things that make this series worth watching are the great performance from the cast and the excellent writing of the story. This is a series that will keep you guessing from beginning to end so if you like that type of stories this one is a must-watch. Have in mind there are some very harsh violent scenes in some episodes that might be a bit uncomfortable to watch. All in all, this series was cool and very enjoyable so I recommend it.

Hay tantos giros y sorpresas que eventualmente deja de sorprender al espectador. Cuando cada episodio introduce un gran cambio, uno se satura un poco con tantos giros. Sin embargo, la serie nunca deja de ser entretenida o intrigante, solo deja de sorprender porque se vuelve normal esperar una nueva sorpresa.

Algo que no me gustó fue una muerte en particular porque la forma en que sucedió fue súper idiota y ninguna persona en la vida real sería tan lenta para correr el riesgo que este personaje tomó en una circunstancia tan complicada. No diré qué personaje es este, pero si ves la serie y te frustras después de ver un asesinato muy tonto, sabrás de cuál estoy hablando.

Esta es una miniserie, por lo que la historia solo dura esta temporada y, a pesar de su compleja trama, todo se aclarará una vez que lleguemos al final del episodio final. Esta serie fue una aventura divertida y una experiencia súper agradable que apuesto a que a la mayoría de la gente le gustará.

¿Cómo fue la actuación del elenco, la ambientación y la cámara?

La actuación de todos los miembros del elenco fue increíble. Hay muchos crímenes, por lo que las actuaciones dramáticas estaban por todas partes y siempre eran lo suficientemente convincentes. Esta serie tiene algunas escenas fuertes, por lo que tener una actuación dramática creíble de algunos miembros del elenco fue extremadamente importante. Todos hicieron un buen trabajo en sus roles y la calidad de toda la serie fue de primera.

La ambientación era normal, quiero decir, la mayoría de los eventos tienen lugar en una ciudad normal, así que no había nada especial en eso. En lo que respecta al trabajo de la cámara, fue simplemente bueno, de nuevo, nada realmente especial.

Reflexiones finales

Las cosas que hacen que valga la pena ver esta serie son la gran actuación del elenco y la excelente redacción de la historia. Esta es una serie que te mantendrá adivinando de principio a fin, así que si te gustan ese tipo de historias, tienes que verla. Ten en cuenta que hay algunas escenas violentas muy duras en algunos episodios que pueden resultar un poco incómodas de ver. En general, esta serie fue genial y muy agradable, así que la recomiendo.
