Friends is one of the most legendary comedy series of all time if not the most legendary one. I started to watch this series when I was just a kid because everytime I came back from school I found one of my aunts watching this show on the TV. I always joined her and I found it so funny that I start to watch it on my own.

The series was so popular that it was broadcasted everyday at least 2 times a day and I suspect they even broadcasted the episodes 3 times a day because I never checked in the mornings but it wouldn't be surprising if the series was available to watch even during those hours.

I don't remember the exact year when I start to watch this series but it probably was after it was finished or at least very near its end. That's why I was able to watch new episodes every day instead of every week.

For a good while, and I am talking a couple of years here, this series was part of my nighlty routine. I would always eay my dinner while watching this show and it was always such a fun time. I had never seen a comedy like this one and became fascinated by it since the beginning. I even started to watch other comedy series to see if all of them were as good but nope, Friends was special. The only one that I found enjoyable enough to keep watching was Two and a Half Men while Charlie Sheen was in there, once he left the show was never the same. Friends never had this problem of course, they started this show with 6 main characters and had a proper ending with the same 6 main characters.

Main names associated with the series

All of the 6 main cast of Friends are very well-known, if not their name most people will probably recognize their faces. The most popular of all is clearly Jennifer Aniston. She is constantly participating in new films and series, usually of the comedy genre of course, and even to this day she is still working in new productions year after year.

La serie fue tan popular que se transmitía todos los días al menos 2 veces al día y sospecho que incluso transmitieron los episodios 3 veces al día porque nunca revisé por las mañanas, pero no sería sorprendente que la serie estuviera disponible para ver incluso durante esas horas.

No recuerdo el año exacto en que comencé a ver esta serie, pero probablemente fue después de que se terminó o al menos muy cerca de su final. Por eso pude ver nuevos episodios todos los días en lugar de cada semana.

People said Courteney Cox was the most popular when the show started, I had no idea if this was really the case though. After Friends ended in 2004 she continued to work in other productions but most of them aren't very well known. She usually works in some tv shows but has also worked on the very popular films Scream. Which by the way, a new one is supposed to come out next year with Courteney Cox in the cast. This will be her first important productions in a several years.

Lisa Kudrow, just like Courteney Cox, usually works in series and not in films. Some of the most important productions in recent years where she has worked are Space Force, and Neighbors 2 as well as The Girl on the Train where she plays a secondary role.

Matt LeBlanc was for a time my favorite Friends character, at the beginning his character was just like any other guy but with time it evolved and it became the dumb guy in the group. There were so many cool scenes that wouldn't be possible withoyt Matt playing the dumb Joey. I even remember that after Friends ended, there was a new little comedy show called Joey. This was the only Friends spin-off every produced and it was cool but obviously not as good as Friends. The show ended after 2 seasons and that was the last time I saw this actor on screen. He has participated in some recent comedy series such as Man with a Plan and Episodes, so it is a good thing to watch this actor still active and doing comedy.

The last time I saw David Schwimmer on the screen was with a series called American Crime Story where he plays a lawyer. It was a surprise to find one of the 6 main Friends characters in a crime series but I was happy to see this guy once again. He has participated in some films and series but his roles are either very small or the show itself isn't very popular.

Lastly but not least, we have Matthew Perry, the guy who played the sarcastic Chandler and probably the funniest character of all. Ironically, after Friends ended his acting was never as great as before. I have never seen him on screen again until I watched Friends The Reunion a few days ago.

What was the series about?

Friends was a show about 6 characters in their 20s, that as one of the producers explained, are in that period of their lives where friends are like family. The show doesn't have a main character but 6 main characters which was some of things that differentiate it from other shows. All the 6 main characters are equal in importance and all of them share an equal amount of screen time throughout the episodes.

The first season and maybe even the second one weren't as good as what came after. The characters evolve and the actors and actresses eventually feel more comfortable and confident with each other. I believe it was around season 3 or maybe even season 2, where the real magic start to happen and the show just keeps creating funny scene after funnny scene until the last episode in season 10.

La gente decía que Courteney Cox era la más popular cuando comenzó el programa, aunque no tengo idea de si este era realmente el caso. Friends was a masterpiece of the genre and Friends The Reunion was a perfect farewell for these legendary characters. We will not only see them discussing a bunch of stuff about the series, but there will also be some other special guests, a few cool surprises and one of the things I liked the most was that they included some videos of fans all over the world explaining how Friends helped them in their lives. There are some touching stories shared by these fans and it really draws a picture about how impactful this show really was.

This special episode will have a lot of scenes from the series and there will also be a few bloopers included as well. We will see the 6 friends playing the same contest they played in the series when Joey and Chandler get Monica's and Rachel's apartment. We will also see them playing some of the scripts again and generally talking about the show, including a few questions from the audience.

It was a super entertaining thing to watch and I believe it was also a neccesary thing to do because a lot of people have been expecting Friends being brought back to life and it finally happened. It wasn't a film but at least it was extremely fun and a great way to say goodbye to the fans.

How were the performance from the cast and the settings?

The performance was perfect which shouldn't be surprising for anyone. They still have the Friends character alive inside each of them but let's not forget this special episode is more about the person behind the character and not so much about the fictional characters.

I really liked the settings, some scenes are inside the unforgettable Monica's apartment but they also filmed a lot of time in front of the popular water fountain that appears in the show's intro.

Final thoughts

I believe this is the first time I give a movie/series a 10 out of 10, simply because there was nothing more that I could ask from this special episode. It really has everything I was expecting it to have, and then some more. It was really a trip down to memory lane with a lot of nostalgic and touching moments but and I am sure all the fans of the series will love it.

We will even learn some things about the series viewers didn't know, and again, some of the surprises were really cool. This is a comedy must watch, especially for people who enjoyed Friends back in those days. This is the farewell all the fans of the series deserved and it couldn't have been more perfect.

Me gustó mucho la ambientación, algunas escenas están dentro del inolvidable apartamento de Mónica, pero también filmaron mucho tiempo frente a la popular fuente de agua que aparece en la introducción del programa.

Reflexiones finales

Creo que esta es la primera vez que le doy a una película/serie un 10 sobre 10, simplemente porque no había nada más que pudiera pedir de este episodio especial. Tiene todo lo que esperaba que tuviera, y algo más. Realmente fue un viaje a los recuerdos con muchos momentos nostálgicos y conmovedores, pero estoy seguro de que a todos los fanáticos de la serie les encantará.

Incluso aprenderemos algunas cosas sobre la serie que los espectadores no sabían, y nuevamente, algunas de las sorpresas fueron realmente geniales. Esta es una comedia que hay que ver, especialmente para las personas que disfrutaban de Friends en aquellos días. Esta es la despedida que todos los fans de la serie se merecían y no podría haber sido más perfecta.
