This was probably the best performance from Robert Pattinson I have ever seen. I decided to watch this movie after realizing the same directors of Uncut Gems (the Safdie brothers) had also made this previous film with a very positive reaction from the market.
I have to tell they have developed their very own style when it comes to producing action-thriller films. They might as well be called the masters of stress-inducing films. However, as I mentioned in my article about Uncut Gems, the best stress-inducing film I have ever watched is No Escape with Owen Wilson.
Back to Good Time, the story is about a pair of brothers, one of them is retarded so the normal one is always explaining things to him and keeping him under control so he doesn’t screw up any plan. They are criminals and I cannot imagine how hard it would be for this type of individual to make plans with a retarded person.

They have a successful hit but it will be no surprise if things get complicated and again, having a retarded person as a partner is a huge load, especially in the crime world. What follows is a nonstop sequence of events following Robert Pattinson’s character as he tries to fix their difficult situation as fast as possible.
The movie has very interesting events and good twists, there are some crude moments of a similar fashion to what can be found on Uncut Gems, and the way everything is shot as well as the music that is used makes the entire experience a very rewarding one.
I prefer Pattinson’s performance in this film more than Sandler’s in Uncut Gems, as I mentioned in its article, Sandler’s character commits too many stupid mistakes that are hard to believe, whether Pattinson’s character is much more believable and despite being less successful he seems more grounded. Although this doesn’t mean Good Time is better than Uncut Gems, I would put them on the same level, so if you enjoyed 1 of those you will certainly enjoy the other one.

The best
- Pattinson gave an awesome performance. Proving he is a well-rounded actor capable of participating in top films.
- Intense situations, and a good and creative twist.
- Crude moments that I believe will become typical of the Safdie brothers just as violence is typical of Tarantino.
The worst
- 2 secondary characters were a little bit naive.
