I have never seen 2 different movies being released together as a single video file, but this is exactly the case with the special film from 2007 called Grindhouse. It consists of 2 films, one directed by Quentin Tarantino and the other by Robert Rodriguez. I have only seen the first one of the 2 movies, Planet Terror, which is the one directed by Rodriguez and it was kind of fun but not that unique.
The story is about a zombie apocalypse caused by a biochemical agent that makes people mutate into horrible beings. The characters are all trying to survive this total disaster and the only way to accomplish this is by defending themselves with brute force and surviving very dangerous situations.
The film was created as a homage for similar films of previous decades that apparently had a lot of fans back in their days. They try to emulate the look of that type of film so, in a way, this doesn't feel like a movie from our previous decade but rather like a much older movie.

You can discern the nature of the movie by simply knowing that the first line Bruce Willis says is "where is the shit"? I chuckled at that part and it made it very clear this movie wasn't one to take seriously.
The craziest thing that I saw in the film was a woman who lost her leg and eventually, it is replaced with an assault weapon! You can see this in the image above and in the poster at the beginning of the article. The movie doesn't explain how she is able to fire that gun without using her hands but this doesn't matter because this isn't a serious movie.
If you are looking for something to watch that doesn't require too much attention, then this film might be a good choice. It is meant to be something fun without thinking too much about it so if you want something with a deep plot then don't come near this film.

The best
- It is slightly entertaining. I am hoping Tarantino's movie is better than this one though.
The worst
- After so many killings and blood all over the place, it gets tiresome and boring.
- Modern audiences will probably not enjoy this film.
