Although I enjoy watching good movies and series, I consider myself quite selective about the shows that I decide to watch in order to avoid wasting time with productions that are not worth it. I have enjoyed Marvel movies and Endgame is so far my favorite movie of the year, but superhero series like Supergirl, or The Flash have never caught my attention.
These days I had seen several people comment that this new Amazon series called The Boys was good, but I was not very convinced so I decided to ignore it. I did know it was about superheroes but in a more realistic version.
The fact is that yesterday I read a comment about the series and decided to watch the first episode ... and well, the truth is that this series is fun and I see why many people recommended it. I was even about to decide not to continue watching the series until [mini spoiler] one of the superheroes ends up taking his pants off in a context that can make anyone laugh.
This series shows how the world with superheroes would be in a realistic and sometimes even in a cruel way. It is not a horror production like Brightburn, and it even has good funny moments, but it also has scenes that are only for adults because of how bloody they are and the cruelty of some "superheroes".
I had never spent time watching a series of superheroes but this one is definitely worth it. And in the coming months with the productions that Disney has prepared for its new streaming service Disney + it is more than likely that other series of superheroes worth seeing will come out.
