When I read the synopsis of this film, I thought the story was going to be similar to a popular film directed by Woody Allen called Midnight in Paris, where a character played by Owen Wilson gets teleported back in time to his preferred era every night. Since I really enjoyed that film, I thought I should also give this one a watch.

However, this story is completely different and there is no actual time traveling. What the synopsis doesn't specify is that in order to experience another era, what really happens is that a company hires actors, and redesign a place such as a bar to make it look like it is from the past, and that's it. The person who hires the company can then give them certain specifications, and then they can enjoy the experience.

Cuando leí la sinopsis de esta película, pensé que la historia sería similar a una película popular dirigida por Woody Allen llamada Midnight in Paris, donde un personaje interpretado por Owen Wilson es teletransportado en el tiempo a su época preferida cada noche. Como realmente disfruté esa película, pensé que también debería darle un reloj a esta.

Sin embargo, esta historia es completamente diferente y no hay un viaje en el tiempo real. Lo que la sinopsis no especifica es que para vivir otra época, lo que realmente pasa es que una empresa contrata actores y rediseña un lugar como un bar para que parezca del pasado, y eso es todo. There is nothing magical or mystic as in Midnight in Paris, and the characters weren't even half as charismatic. In La Belle Époque, the story is about a man in his 60s, he is having a rough time with his marriage and sometimes it appears as if his wife doesn't love him anymore.

He also appears to be in a permanent battle against the constantly changing world, he prefers classical times over the convoluted modern era he is living in now. All of this causes him a very strong sense of general frustration, which is why his son decides to hire the company and give his father the opportunity to experience his favorite era again, and not only his favorite era but also his favorite moment in his entire life.

No hay nada mágico o místico como en Midnight in Paris, y los personajes no eran ni la mitad de carismáticos. En La Belle Époque, la historia trata sobre un hombre de unos 60 años, está pasando por un momento difícil con su matrimonio y, a veces, parece que su esposa ya no lo ama.

También parece estar en una batalla permanente contra el mundo en constante cambio, prefiere los tiempos clásicos a la enrevesada era moderna en la que vive ahora. Todo esto le provoca un sentimiento de frustración general muy fuerte, razón por la cual su hijo decide contratar la empresa y darle a su padre la oportunidad de volver a vivir su época favorita, y no solo su época favorita sino también su momento favorito de toda su vida.

This is a romantic story so most scenes involve characters that desire each other, or have a longing to revive the cozy feelings of their past. I didn't like the fact that comedy is included as one of its genres and I don't remember laughing not even once while watching this film. Sadly, its comedy wasn't all that great and it wasn't the fun experience I was expecting.

I would recommend this film only if you are looking for a romantic drama with a slight touch of creativity embedded into the story. Forget about anything similar to the cheery style of Woody Allen. I think this movie can be enjoyable if the viewer knows what to expect from it.

Esta es una historia romántica, por lo que la mayoría de las escenas involucran a personajes que se desean el uno al otro o que anhelan revivir los agradables sentimientos de su pasado. No me gustó el hecho de que la comedia esté incluida como uno de sus géneros y no recuerdo haberme reído ni una sola vez mientras veía esta película. Lamentablemente, su comedia no fue tan buena y no fue la experiencia divertida que esperaba.

Recomendaría esta película solo si está buscando un drama romántico con un ligero toque de creatividad incrustado en la historia. Olvídate de cualquier cosa similar al estilo alegre de Woody Allen. Creo que esta película puede ser algo entretenida si el espectador sabe qué esperar de ella.
