Last night I saw this movie called Nomandland mainly because I knew the main actress from the movie "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" where she gave a great performance, and also because it has been receiving very good recognition from virtually everyone.
The story is obviously about nomads, however, I wasn't sure if it was about digital nomads, the people who earn a living online, can work from everywhere, and are constantly moving places, or it was about another type of nomad which is much less glamorous.
The main character is a woman in her 50s or 60s, with no children and a recently dead husband, and sadly, she isn't the fancy nomad type, but rather a very poor one. If it wasn't because of her RV she could be called homeless. In fact, in one scene of the film, she calls herself "houseless" to differentiate herself from the typical homeless person.

She works basic jobs here and there and has enough money to not suffer from major necessities. I mean, it isn't like she is starving or anything like that. But her situation is also very vulnerable and not comfortable at all. Especially when comparing it to what's comfortable in modern America.
Nevertheless, her life isn't miserable. The film will show how people in her circumstances can make friends with other individuals going through similar periods and achieve happiness together. There are several happy scenes throughout the entire film and it shows that material possessions aren't everything there is in life.

The film has excellent scenery, and it will show very beautiful landscapes. These nomads enjoy living in the wild, in the mountains, and in other places like that. The film shows they have their own strategies to make life more enjoyable given the fact they are far from civilization and basic utilities. They all have their own car though, usually a van or a RV.
I would recommend this film to fans of the main actress, she does another masterful performance and portrays her role perfectly. If you also like a drama about working-class people then this could be a good choice to watch. However, glorifying such lifestyles might not be wise.

The best
- Great performance from the main character.
The worst
- Boring movie, at least for my tastes.
