Servant is one of my favorite series from the Apple TV+ streaming service and I was very excited to continue watching this story in its second season. I remember the first season had a lot of intense suspense and was hoping more of the same this time. However, the second season felt quite different with almost no suspense.

In Servant, the story is about a couple in their 30s. They had a baby that dies by accident, and as a method of coping with this tragedy, a therapist recommended them to buy a fake but realistic-looking plastic baby. The problem begins when the mother begins to treat this plastic baby as if it was a real baby, and this wasn't the worst. When they hire a nanny in the first season, the nanny also begins to treat the plastic baby as if it was real, and suddenly, instead of a plastic baby, they have a real one again.

Servant es una de mis series favoritas del servicio de streaming Apple TV + y estaba muy emocionado de seguir viendo esta historia en su segunda temporada. Recuerdo que la primera temporada tuvo mucho suspenso intenso y esperaba más de lo mismo esta vez. Sin embargo, la segunda temporada se sintió bastante diferente, casi sin suspenso.

En Servant, la historia trata sobre una pareja de 30 años. Tuvieron un bebé que muere por accidente y, como método para hacer frente a esta tragedia, un terapeuta les recomendó que compraran un bebé de plástico falso pero de apariencia realista. El problema comienza cuando la madre comienza a tratar a este bebé de plástico como si fuera un bebé de verdad, y esto no fue lo peor. The first season ends with the mysterious nanny getting visited by an old couple claiming to be her aunt and uncle, and shortly after this visit, they left the young couple taking the new baby with them. In season 2 we will see the couple, as well as the woman's brother, doing everything they can to track down the nanny and recover their baby using any means necessary.

This time, there is no mystery surrounding the nanny character like in the first season. The more appropriate genre to describe this season would be to call it a thriller. The only time there was a bit of suspense was in the 2 final episodes with the introduction of a new character. There are still a few paranormal events of course, but the creepy suspense wasn't there anymore.

La primera temporada termina con la misteriosa niñera visitada por una pareja de ancianos que dice ser su tía y su tío, y poco después de esta visita, los 3 dejan a la joven pareja llevándose al nuevo bebé con ellos. En la temporada 2 veremos a la pareja, así como al hermano de la mujer, haciendo todo lo posible para localizar a la niñera y recuperar a su bebé por todos los medios necesarios.

Esta vez, no hay ningún misterio en torno al personaje de la niñera como en la primera temporada. El género más apropiado para describir esta temporada sería llamarlo thriller. La única vez que hubo un poco de suspenso fue en los 2 episodios finales con la introducción de un nuevo personaje. Todavía hay algunos eventos paranormales, por supuesto, pero el suspenso espeluznante ya no estaba allí.

The thing that puzzled me the most was a gradual but inexplicable change of attitude in the nanny after the couple, and especially the woman, Dorothy, takes a drastic measure to recover what they lost. This could be explained by taking into consideration the psychological profile of this character, and how she was molded by a very strict, authoritarian, and possibly even abusive environment. But I still found myself wondering why her attitude changed so much. When she should be extremely disturbed, she was actually complicit.

I consider this is a good series but there is no much suspense left to it anymore, and suspense was its main attraction in season 1. It is clear there will be a third season down the road in which a very important conflict will take place involving the mysterious cult that's related to the nanny, and in my opinion, that's intriguing enough to keep watching this series. I think this series is certainly worth watching, but season 2 wasn't as good as the first one. I do expect a more intense plot in season 3.

Lo que más me desconcertó fue un cambio de actitud paulatino pero inexplicable en la niñera luego de que la pareja, y sobre todo la mujer, Dorothy, toma una medida drástica para recuperar lo perdido. Esto podría explicarse teniendo en cuenta el perfil psicológico de este personaje, y cómo fue moldeado por un entorno muy estricto, autoritario y posiblemente incluso abusivo. Pero todavía me preguntaba por qué su actitud cambió tanto. Cuando debería estar extremadamente perturbada, en realidad adoptó una actitud cómplice.

Considero que esta es una buena serie pero ya no queda mucho suspenso, y el suspenso fue su principal atractivo en la temporada 1. Está claro que habrá una tercera temporada en el camino en la que se producirá un conflicto muy importante que involucra el culto misterioso que está relacionado con la niñera, y en mi opinión, eso es lo suficientemente intrigante como para seguir viendo esta serie. Creo que vale la pena ver esta serie, pero la temporada 2 no fue tan buena como la primera. Espero una trama más intensa en la temporada 3.

I did enjoy the ending because it makes it clear something even bigger is coming.
I liked new character added in the final 2 episodes. Very creepy.

Disfruté el final porque deja en claro que algo aún más grande está por llegar.
