If the excellent horror movie Get Out exploited the topic of evil racists, this one exploits or at least tries to exploit the topic of evil homophobic people. I say "tries to" because sadly the movie wasn't a very satisfactory watch.
The story is about a gay couple moving into a small neighborhood where everyone seems to know each other. They have a teenage daughter and everyone in the family gets along just fine. The beginning of the film is a bit intense because there was a violent act but after the couple arrives at their new house, the movie quickly gets very slow and even boring.
What might keep the intrigue alive for some viewers is the inclusion of several weird scenes that imply the existence of something extremely strange in this town. In these scenes we see people having abnormal behaviors and just being outright creepy.

There are 2 horror scenes but they felt like out of touch with the film, I mean, there was no point in adding them because they didn't help the story in any way, this movie should be categorized as a mystery and suspenseful film. There were also several illogical decisions from the main character that cannot be explained, especially when the safety of your loved ones is at risk, this is the result of crappy writing.
In some parts of the story, the movie will try to play with the viewers trying to make them believe that what they are seeing isn't actually happening, this narration tool is known as an unreliable narrator but eventually, the movie will make itself very clear regarding this particular aspect. The idea of the story was very good in my opinion, but despite this fact, the film wasn't as entertaining and intriguing as it should have been.

Recommending this film isn't easy because it promised so much more than what it delivered. The setting had so much potential but it became diluted and ended up being disappointing. So, only if you really enjoy the horror genre and are particularly interested in a half-cooked Get Out like mystery movie, then maybe watching it could be a good choice.
By the way, when it comes to entertaining, intrigue, and mystery Get Out is completely superior to this film. They belong to different leagues but since there is some similarity in the setting of the story I guess it was appropriate to mention it.

The best
- The idea behind this story was good.
The worst
- Poor execution.
- Crappy writing.
