Last night I finished watching Tales from the Loop season 1 and I have to say the last episode was my favorite one. In order to properly enjoy this episode, it is necessary to at least watch episode 1 and especially episode 2. You could also watch episode 7 since it is related to the same family and it was a good episode.
Feel free to skip episodes 3, 4, 5, and 6. Those were the most disappointing ones for me and are totally unrelated to episode 8. The story in this final episode can be seen as the immediate sequel for the events of episode 2. In that episode, something happens between 2 teenagers, the kid's older brother and his popular but dumb friend, that results in big changes for both of their lives and their families' lives as well.
When the kid learns about this change, he tries to find a solution on his own. Now, let's remember where these stories take place, this is a little town with a strange place called the Loop where all sorts of crazy things happen. There is also strange stuff all over the cities such as robots, "magical" trucks, mysterious devices, etc... So a kid trying to find a solution for a crazy problem might not be the best option.

He goes to the woods and that will be a life-changing decision for him. Even in the woods, there are strange things that cannot be explained and I don't mean the cool robot from the picture above.
This episode serves as a proper ending for this family's story, it was very touching and well written. Despite the focus being more in the drama rather than in the scifi, it turned out ok in this particular episode, not in the show in general though.
I have the feeling the writers wanted to develop deep stories with this formula but they didn't accomplish that. Of the 8 episodes in total, about half are worth watching while the other 4 are more difficult to recommend. My advice is to at least watch episode 1, 2, and 8. And if you want more, watch episode 7.
After watching the entire season I can say this series is better than Amazing Stories from Apple TV+, but that doesn't make it a must-watch series, far from it. Even though I enjoyed several episodes I don't think I will be watching season 2 if they decide to produce it. I can see that Black Mirror has skewed my expectations when it comes to scifi anthology show. Good top-notch productions of this genre appear to be as rare as in the horror genre.

The best
- Good story with touching moments and a twist I wasn't expecting.
The worst
- Some characters are extremely passive when encountering troubling situations.
- As is usual with this series, the focus is on the drama but the main attraction is the scifi and its corresponding looks. It is like a show catfishing the viewers.
