This new Spanish movie from Netflix has been compared with Oscar-winning Parasite, I don't think this comparison is suitable. I would rather compare this movie with the well-known film The Talented Mr. Ripley, where Matt Damons plays a gentle psychopath and Jude Law a wealthy heir with a playboy lifestyle.
In this movie, the story is in modern Spain, the main character is a family guy in disgrace because he lost his job and his family is forced to downgrade their lifestyle. He is incredibly frustrated because everything goes wrong, and shortly after moving to a smaller home in a poorer part of the city, he goes back to his previous home and sees a happy family living in there.
He kept the keys to that penthouse so one day he decides to sneak in to see if he can find some way to solve his problems. He takes a liking to this process of sneaking in so he continues to do so until he finds out a potential weak point in the father's life.

From this point, he will pretend to be a completely different person (this is why it sort of reminded me of Ripley) so he can establish contact and hopefully develop a friendship with this person. It is never clear what his intentions are but it is easy to assume he is simply looking for ways to earn money no matter the cost.
This character is cunning and ruthless, he doesn't have empathy towards anyone so he acts like the total psychopath that he is, this isn't clear in the beginning but it will be more than clear by the movie's ending. There will naturally be some complications but he will deal with them in a very skillful way, sometimes even with cruelty.
If you enjoy a good psychological thriller you should definitely check this movie. It was very entertaining, with good performances especially from the lead. After watching this movie, The Platform and the soon to be released season 4 of Money Heist, I am really surprised with the high quality of the Spanish productions that have been recently released.

The best
- A new cool psychopath movie. With a serious and disturbing ending.
- As a psychological thriller, it is one of the best I have seen in recent months.
The worst
- Some parts of the plot were highly unlikely.
