If you enjoy horror videogames I would bet you have at least read something about the Five Nights at Freddy's saga. This is a very popular indie development where the basic premise is to survive the whole night as a night security guard inside a restaurant with deadly animatronics.
The videogame has effective jumpscares and its method to scare players resulted in massive sales. I have lost count on how many Fnaf games have been released so far but there are at least 5 different games. This popularity resulted in rumors about a movie but after several years no movie has been produced. However, Willy's Wonderland is obviously inspired by the Five Nights at Freddy's videogame saga and well, that's exactly the reason I decided to watch this film.

I was surprised to see Nicolas Cage playing the main role, I mean, this movie is obviously not a big production and is the typical horror film for younger audiences that most adults will find annoying. Even his character seemed to be annoyed for the entire movie and funnily enough, I don't remember him saying not even a word. Maybe his character tries to mirror the annoyance most people will feel while watching this silly movie.
The story begins with him suffering a flat tire while on the road. He finds help from the local people in exchange for working overnight at Willy's Wonderland and clean the entire place. He agrees because what else can he do right? But the real intentions of the people who provided him "help" will eventually reveal themselves.

There are also a few teenage characters and their lines and scenes are the worst part of the film. I mean, imagine the typical dialogues and decisions from this type of character and you will already know what to expect from them. Now, I did find some similarities regarding the type of action this film provides with the action from the Netflix series called Sweet Home. Maybe it was the use of a similar color palette in certain scenes, and by the way, Sweet Home is undoubtedly much better, but some scenes felt similar.
If you are in the mood for a fun and silly movie and don't mind watching bodies getting destroyed, this film is for you. I think the Netflix series I just mentioned will be a better choice though, but I guess animatronics are somewhat trendy and this film has enough of those. However, don't expect much from this movie, it is meant to be funny and silly.

- It provided a valid background explaining why the animatronics are so evil.
The worst
- The writing of some characters was very generic.
