Zombie hunting and survival is pretty common theme these days on both anime and the Live TV Shows. Highschool of the dead is pretty much popular anime series that was more of survival comedy horror anime.
This series had everything in it. Like provocative boobs, humor, survival, serious hit and run and some amount of violence as well. And the story is pretty much done assuming bunch of teens are trying to survive.
So let's review the Highschool of the Dead anime.

Story
HOTD starts with some simple panic in the highschool and the nearby places. And the people who are surviving just keep on moving from one place to another. Most of the girls in the highschool have pretty big boobs and they kind of create humor using boobs. They also throw in some typical highschool crush and the love stuff in the mix.

Slow and steady the story moves. And so does the new character gets added into the story. I'd say story had a lot of potential but till the end of the episodes I didn't found any strong potential to see it continue one after another. But overall I'd say that story falls short on the execution. I am not surprised that anime was discontinued eventually.
Animation
I'd say the anime has mix of hentai like content and the mix of the violence survival stuff. I'd say that they did pretty good. Though the content is provocative which kind of make you want to watch more and I agree with that. I did watched for that factor and it was less on the story and more or less on survival.

Is it worth binge watching?
It is small series and something like that worth binge watching. It's not on netflix so you may have to do it from crunchyroll or some other type of the app where you can watch the TV series.

I would be careful watching on TV though considering the boob show kind of makes you not watch it front of the kids and other family members. That sort of humor from japan is a bit hard to adjust on the family friendly tv watch.
If you like zombies, if you like big breasted girls and also like watching survival horror with gore violence in it then definitely go watch the series.
