Inuyasha Anime Review – Nostalgic Adventure and Romance in the Sengoku Era

Review by @devyswan1 · 236d · of Inuyasha

‎ ‎Hello Anime Lovers! ‎I want to tell you about an anime I used to watch a lot when I was in elementary school named Inuyasha. For those of you who used to love waiting for anime shows on TV or even those who are just starting to watch it now. This anime has a unique vibe.

‎ ‎What is this anime about? ‎ ‎The story is about an ordinary high school student named Kagome, who lives a normal life. She suddenly dragged into an old well in her family's shrine. This transports her to the Sengoku era, a time of war in Japan hundreds of years ago. Kagome meets Inuyasha There. Inuyasa is a half-demon who was sealed in a cherry blossom tree by a priest named Kikyo. After Kagome accidentally frees him , the two of them must work together to find the shards of the Shikon no Tama ( A magical stone that if intact , can make anyone super strong).

The problem is... the stone is broken into pieces and scattered everywhere. They must collect them before they fall into the hands of their enemies , especially the cunning Naraku. Along the way they meet Sango the demon hunter and Miroku the perveted monk also Shippo the cute little fox and many other exciting characters.

Why Do I Love This Anime So Much?

The romance between Inuyasha and Kagome feels real.

Inuyasha and Kagome's relationship develops slowly. And , even they often bicker but that's where their chemistry shines. It's not just about liking each other but they learn to trust each other despite their vastly different backgrounds. ‎

The setting is unique – feudal Japan full of mysticism ‎I really love the Sengoku era , atmosphere filled with temples and the demons also the magical swords and Japanese folklore. It feels like I'm traveling back in time but in a fantasy version. ‎ ‎The characters have depth ‎Not just the main characters. But even supporting characters like Sesshomaru or Koga also have their own interesting stories. They're not just mere additions. ‎ ‎The soundtrack is truly iconic ‎Who doesn't remember the song Fukai Mori by Do As Infinity or Every Heart by BoA? Even now, hearing those songs immediately brings back epic scenes in this anime. ‎ ‎Rumiko Takahashi's work ‎If you've ever watched Ranma , you'll understand her humor and character style. It's so unique that no one else can replicate it. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎The Slightly Unpleasant ‎ ‎There are a few things that sometimes make me skip episodes: ‎ ‎- Lots of filler – There are episodes that aren't really important to the main plot. So it sometimes feels slow. ‎ - Overlong love triangle drama – The Inuyasha–Kagome–Kikyo issue is sometimes repeated to the point of feeling stuck. ‎- Old animation quality – It's understandable, considering it was produced in the early 2000s but compared to today's anime , it looks really old-fashioned. ‎ ‎

‎ ‎Inuyasha is more than just an action anime. It teaches about self-acceptance and loyalty also how to move on from the past. Even though it's been over 20 years since it first aired , the story is still relevant and enjoyable to watch. ‎ ‎If you're looking for an anime with a long emotional yet exciting story , Inuyasha is definitely worth checking out – whether you're looking for a nostalgic moment or a first-time viewer. ‎

‎ ‎What about you? ‎ ‎Have you ever watched Inuyasha too? Or are you watching it now? Who's your favorite character ? The assertive Kagome or the mysterious Kikyo or the incredibly cool Sesshomaru? 😄 ‎ ‎Let's share in the comments!

Best regards, Devy

This anime has a lot of details that make it great, from the depth of each of its characters to the soundtrack. It has many moments of comedy, but also action and emotion 😍 Even the characters that appeared in only two episodes had depth haha Rumiko did a great job with her work, it was one of the first anime I saw as a child, which is why it is so memorable and special to me ❤️

This anime is really nostalgic, one of my favorites, an anime I grew up with and ended up watching as an adult. A classic, nostalgia at its finest.

    Best regards.
