Ciao Steemians!

Per quanto ne so io siamo tutti umani e siamo tutti uguali.

Hi Steemans!

Look carefully at these two phictures above. Do you notice any differences? I absolutely don't, they are two normal people. The jury of the Texas court in 1999 was not of the same opinion. This is Bomb City, a movie inspired by a story that really happened, recently released on theatres, you probably will not hear much talk about it. The story is strong, but really strong, one of those that can make the blood boil in your veins and make you want to scream to the many injustices in this world. True that was a different times and almost twenty years have passed but I doubt that certain things doesn't happen anymore, almost an utopia to think the contrary unfortunately, I wish the world was beautiful and right for everyone, but it's not, and if ever it will I doubt that in my life I will be part of the perfect world. Personally I don't watch news on free or pay TV, if I watch it is to look something of my choice, I do not read the newspapers, I did it once, but I was angry every day and so I had to choose, the choices that I found were two: the first to keep me angry 24/7 and probably get me hospitalized for some nasty illness due to a possible ulcer, the second disinterested myself almost completely about news and politics. I chosed the second one. True, I will remain ignorant about a lot of things, in fact when I happen to be around and friends and colleagues ask me:"did you hear what happened...?" I always say "no" and they remain to look at me hesitant, but in life everyone must make choices and I have done this one and I don't regret it at all, compared to long time ago I feel much more in peace with myself. You may wonder what all this has to do with this movie, well as I said is inspired by a true event that happened almost twenty years ago, a fact of crime news, that tell the story of some guys called punk, I think you all have in mind as a stereotype: drug addicts, alcoholics, bad dressed, dirty, smelly, tattooed, hated by law enforcement with earrings and studs everywhere and patches of all kinds with anarchist writing that invite to rebellion and to violence on their jackets, mostly taken from album of musical genre, the punk rock. In other words, boys who live their lives in their own way and have written on them what until proven otherwise are just words, translating words into action is not so obvious. Of course not all of them are saints but rotten apples are everywhere, even in respectable families. And here we come to the other piece of story, that of the stereotypes of the classic American football players: beautiful, well-dressed, religious, decent family and who are secretly alcoholic, loved and protected by law enforcement. In other words, normal guys who have just sport in their minds and the achievement of a goal that can lead them to fame. The first ones by circumstances or by choice have idealistic thoughts, the second ones are more indoctrinated thanks to a stable support behind them. Well during most of the movie it does not happen much, you can see how they live their life these two types of guys who sometimes argues for the sole reason of being different from each other, on the other hand, youth is inevitably synonymous with inexperience and sometimes even stupidity.

I also know something about that as a young man I was a metalhead, from a decent family but with a rebellious nature, living in a village with a thousand souls you can imagine what a nice impression I did to them when I was wearing my beautiful t-shirts around, but there were practically no rival factions, people just despised and avoided you, so was all right as far as I am concerned because I have never taken so much into consideration the opinions of others people about me, since it is in my opinion useless to judge a book by cover. What is really important happens at the end of the movie, where during a big fight between the two factions one of the good boys decides to run over one of the bad boys with his father's car causing his death, the name of the deceased guy was Brian Deneke. Looking to the many witnesses the boy has no escape, is arrested and subsequently tried. What is extremely shocking is the result of this court trial, is cleared by a $ 10,000 fine and having to do community service. The fine was later canceled. This individual who is no longer a kid is at large and is living his life in total freedom without any repercussions. On the day of the trial, Brian died for the second time, but this time by the hands of "justice". Before seeing the movie I was not aware of this tragic event, the reaction I had in the end is a mix of anger, sadness and powerlessness, Inside I screamed louder than I could but I was paralyzed, with tears in my eyes. The spontaneous question that I ask you is this: a kid can die just because he's different? As far as I know, we're all human and we're all the equal.
