In early February, the new horror film "Willy's Wonderland" starring Nicolas Cage started in theaters, and even though it's a hundred percent thrash project with a penny budget, it's definitely not worth passing up this completely insane attraction.
Saw it this week and I'm happy to share my impressions.

A nameless and silent hero (Nicolas Cage) suffers a car accident near the tiny town of Hayesville, Nevada.
Credit cards are not honored in this backwater, and the hero has no cash, so he agrees to a deal offered to him - to do a general cleaning at a half-built amusement park at night, for which his peddling owner will pay to repair his car.
The movie just tore me to shreds. The primitive, straightforward plot borrowed from the popular "Five Nights at Freddy's" video game series and the copious special effects are more than offset by the stylization of the VHS hits of the 90s and the charisma of Cage, who played an absolutely matchless hero somewhere between his characters in "Mandy" and "Crazy Ride". Only even weirder and crazier.

One-third of the way through the movie he's in an epileptic montage cleaning up, and the rest of the time he's either catching weird bouts of soda, which he takes like medicine, strictly by the hour, or he's going into berserk mode and battling the revived and rather bloodthirsty roast dolls with maximum brutality (and without the slightest shadow of surprise).

It sounds so delirious and bad that it's even good. As horror movies are supposed to do, the hapless teenagers who find themselves in Willy's park are turned into mincemeat by monsters, which, however, Cage is also unemotional, and this detachment oddly enough works. And the way he mops up an ostrich or the winning pinball dance is a sight to behold, and a real treat for fans of old-good B-Movies.
What made director Kevin Lewis interrupt a long, 13-year creative hiatus to make this outrageous movie is beyond me, but if this were the VHS era, I'd definitely put it on tape to pair it with "Mandy" or "Veterans of Foreign Wars" (VFW), to which it is little inferior for blood (machine oil in the case of animatronics) and insanity.
Do your cleaning, watch a good movies, and don't abuse the energy drinks :)

P.S. Cage's character doesn't say a single word in the whole movie.
