Hello friends!
In some places we have holidays, Easter days and therefore a little more time. And among things to do I would also like to rest, disconnect my mind and stop thinking, for this I wanted to find a TV series that would entertain me without further ado, without great pretensions but one of those that make you want to see the next chapter right away to find out what will happen.
But sometimes it is not easy, currently we have a large catalogue, a large offer and a lot to choose from, that is good but it has a small drawback: we can spend a long time looking at covers, reading reviews or recommendations, which one do we choose?
I didn't want to waste a lot of time with the decision and in the end I chose a series that appeared as one of the most watched or popular in my country these days on HBOMax. It's called “La Brea” (yes, the original title is in Spanish too). Although I must say that because of the image and the summary I thought that I would not like it very much and that I would perhaps end up watching only one episode before switching to another, but I wanted to give it a chance, sometimes as it is said "you cannot judge a book just by the cover” (in this case a series by its cover or image).

LA BREA
What is it about?
It is about an event in the La Brea area in the city of Los Angeles, suddenly on a normal day, where people follow their routine, a giant hole begins to open in the ground that swallows everything, and all the people, many cars that were in a traffic jam end up disappearing into that hole.

Some try to escape, get out of the car and run in the opposite direction, like the protagonist family, but only the daughter succeeds, and the mother and brother disappear inside. The entire population is in shock.
In the meanwhile the authorities discreetly investigate the fact, and surprisingly it is known that they had been investigating this phenomenon for years (maybe this data might be a tiny spoiler? sorry). This is found out by that daughter who is reunited with her father, and they both set out to rescue the rest of the family, because they don't believe they are dead... are they?
The father has been having visions or hallucinations for years that finally end up making sense during all this dramatic situation. And that helps him keep going and keep the faith to go after his family.
And what happens in the hole?
Everything that was in that part of the city ends up falling into a clearing in a forest, it seems to be another world. And the survivors realize that it is a strange world, seeing the type of prehistoric animals that pass through it seems that they are in a primitive world, like from thousands of years ago.

Down there they will have to learn to organize and establish alliances as many weird things happen, the best are interpersonal relationships, old infidelities are highlighted, a mother and son who reconcile, two sisters who are sisters despite not being, youthful love and the funny guy of the group that ends up being the best friend…

A lot happens, and in the end I couldn't wait to see what happened, how they try to rescue them, how the plot gets more complicated and interesting, with other people and villages down there, with lights that are temporal portals, with more holes, with different timelines, different ages and lives of some characters and more jumps in time.

Some details and my opinion
I must say that there are some glitches or mistakes, some inconsistencies appear, I have seen several, the series is not the best in this sense, but despite that, it still has something, perhaps that even gives it its own character, you laugh when you try to calculate how many years before or forward they are going..., and you just think that something else surreal could happen next. It keeps you in suspense or at least me with the curiosity to know more.
I think there will be a third season, I'm not sure about this, but since it has hooked me, surely if there is one, I won't have to waste time choosing a TV series and I'll watch this.
Let's see if you like it if you watch it or... have you seen it? What is your opinion?
