Hola amigos || Hello friends
Espero que estén teniendo un excelente día. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una experiencia muy bonita que viví hace unos días con mi hija Luna, la cual me hizo viajar directo a mi infancia y recordar una de las etapas más curiosas de mi niñez y es que cuando fui niño practiqué karate durante un buen tiempo y les soy sincero, no fue por decisión mía, sino de mi mamá que buscaba que yo tuviera más responsabilidades y aprendiera de ella. Aunque aquí entre nos, no fue sino cuando conocí la blockchain que vi la importancia de lo que mi mamá siempre me intento enseñar.

Today I want to share with you a really lovely experience I had a few days ago with my daughter Luna, which took me right back to my childhood and reminded me of one of the most interesting phases of my youth. When I was a kid, I practiced karate for quite a while, and to be honest, it wasn’t my decision it was my mom’s, who wanted me to take on more responsibilities and learn from her. Although, between you and me, it wasn’t until I learned about blockchain that I realized the importance of what my mom had always tried to teach me.
El karate quizás no era el deporte que yo más anhelaba practicar pero hoy en día veo hacia atrás y lo recuerdo con muchísimo cariño. No cabe duda que fueron momentos muy buenos y llenos de aprendizaje que se quedaron grabados en mí para siempre solo que no lo entendía del todo. Precisamente por esa fiebre de las artes marciales que se vivía en los noventa salió una película que me volvía loco y que disfrutaba muchu de niño. Les hablo de un verdadero ícono de la época, hablo de la película llamada ¨3 Ninjas¨
Karate may not have been the sport I most wanted to practice, but today I look back on it with great fondness. There’s no doubt those were wonderful times, full of learning experiences that have stayed with me forever even if I didn’t fully understand them at the time. It was precisely because of that martial arts craze in the ’90s that a movie came out that drove me wild and that I really enjoyed as a kid. I’m talking about a true icon of that era: the movie called “3 Ninjas.”
El domingo pasado buscando algo divertido para ver en familia decidí ponerle esta película a Luna. Tenía un poco de curiosidad por ver cómo reaccionaría una niña de hoy en día a los efectos y el humor de hace más de tres décadas y para mi sorpresa, se divirtió bastante. Fue increíble verla enganchada con la historia de Rocky, Colt y Tum-Tum defendiéndose de los criminales con sus habilidades ninja enseñadas por su abuelo lo cual fue esta una de las claves para que Luna se enganchara pues su abuelo materno es muy alocado con ella y a veces se ponen a jugar luchas. Sin embargo su reacción ante ciertas escenas fue lo que me dio más risa ja ja ja... Luna con toda la frescura del mundo soltaba la frase "Un clásico" cada vez que aparecía un momento de comedia ja ja ja...
Last Sunday, while looking for something fun to watch as a family, I decided to show Luna this movie. I was a little curious to see how a modern-day girl would react to the special effects and humor from more than three decades ago, and to my surprise, she really enjoyed it. It was amazing to see her hooked on the story of Rocky, Colt, and Tum-Tum defending themselves against criminals with the ninja skills taught to them by their grandfather which was one of the main reasons Luna got so into it, since her maternal grandfather is really playful with her and they sometimes wrestle around. However, her reaction to certain scenes was what made me laugh the most, ha ha ha… Luna, with all the innocence in the world, would blurt out “A classic!” every time a funny moment came up, ha ha ha…
Lo curioso es que cuando lo decía no lo hacía por la antigüedad de la película sino, porque identificaba perfectamente esas esecenas de comedia y chistes que hoy en día ya están más que reusadas en el cine. Pero me pareció genial que notara ese cliché de los noventa lo cual me dice que como padres lo estamos haciendo bien ja ja ja… Luna disfrutó muchísimo, con decirles que veremos las otras dos restantes. Creo que no está en discusión, los clásicos no mueren aunque sus chistes estén gastados. Me salió con rima y todo la frase ja ja ja…
The funny thing is that when she said that, it wasn’t because of how old the movie was, but because she perfectly recognized those comedy scenes and jokes that are now more than overused in movies. But I thought it was great that she noticed that ’90s cliché which tells me that, as parents, we’re doing a good job, ha ha ha… Luna enjoyed it so much in fact, we’re going to watch the other two in the series. I think it’s indisputable: classics never die, even if their jokes are worn out. I even managed to make that phrase rhyme, ha ha ha…
Volver a ver esta película a través de los ojos de Lunita me hizo dar cuenta que aunque el cine cambie y las fórmulas de comedia se repitan hasta el cansancio, la magia de una película familiar bien hecha seguirá intacta. Me gusta saber que lo que a mí me divertía a su edad, hoy logra sacarle una sonrisa a ella y a su vez creamos como padres un puente entre nuestras infancias que es lo que exactamente buscamos cuando vemos esos clásicos con Lunita. Al final, pasamos una tarde espectacular. Ella descubrió una película genial y yo pude revivir aquellos años en los que, entre patadas de karate obligadas por mi mamá y cintas de VHS fui muy feliz.
Watching this movie again through Lunita’s eyes made me realize that even though cinema changes and comedy formulas are repeated ad nauseam, the magic of a well-made family film will remain intact. I like knowing that what entertained me at her age still manages to bring a smile to her face today, and in turn, as parents, we’re building a bridge between our childhoods which is exactly what we’re looking for when we watch those classics with Lunita. In the end, we had a spectacular afternoon. She discovered a great movie, and I was able to relive those years when, between karate kicks forced on me by my mom and VHS tapes, I was very happy.
