The Game Plan is an American family comedy film, released in 2007 starring Dwayne Johnson, Madison Pettis, and other notable actors and actresses. The movie is about a professional and famous quarterback whose football career means a lot to him and nothing else. Deeper into the storyline, the universe decides to let his daughter come into the equation. Now the question is; was he able to accept his daughter? Did his life change?
Joe Kingman(Dwayne Johnson), the professional quarterback scores a touchdown between the Boston Rebels and the New York Dukes. The next day, his biological daughter, Peyton Kelly from his ex-wife of 8 years ago showed up at his doorstep telling Joe that her mother sent her to come to meet him because she was traveling to Africa for humanitarian rescue work. Joe, being curious, asked all the necessary questions to verify if Peyton is his daughter, but she came prepared with all the necessary answers.
Joe had no choice but to let his daughter stay with him, his agent was scared that it would bring down his career reputation but Joe didn't mind. As his journey of fatherhood began, he unconsciously forgot Peyton at the opening of his bar-restaurant at 3 am and before he could go back to pick her up, the paparazzi already spun their story and tagged Joe as a bad father.
Things began to unfold as they both learned each other's weaknesses and strengths and also formed a strong bond of friendship. Also, Joe got to join Peyton in a ballet performance as he attended classes together with her. Through that, Joe got a chance to form a father and daughter relationship with her. In the end, they became cheerleaders to each other.
The Game Plan is my favorite movie because it has some moral lessons, it depicts all that happens in life and its comedy scenes are amazing. Anytime I am feeling down, I watch the movie and it brightens my mood. Watching the movies always gives me a hard laugh and it is satisfying to rewind some funny scenes as one gets to laugh all over again. One of the lessons I learned from the movie is 'life is full of surprises and packages, but are we ready to accept and adjust to sudden changes disguised as blessings?' A good family comedy that ends with a good laugh and triumphs at the end.
