The Plot Indeed there is a God who's got our back and has greater plans for us than we can ever imagine although, we must face the key choices that build or mare our dreams even though fate has always got something else in store for every one of us.

Favourite son is a family drama set around a church and the family which consists of two sons (Blaine and Camden), a husband who is the reverend of a megachurch, and a wife whose husband was always cheating on her and never got time for her.

The twin brothers are in a gospel group, while Camden is a songwriter, and plays the keyboard for his group, Blaine is the face of the musical group and enjoys performing on stage with the rest of the crew.

The wonderful music earns them big labels musicians flocking around them.

Both brothers dream is to make it big in the world of music but they struggle to balance life as both are under the strict watch of their father who forcefully rules their lives for them by making decisions and taking steps that they would not wish to just so he can have them live the life he wants and not the life they want.

All their father ever thought was what people who worshipped and respected them will say and not what his sons wanted and don't want.

Camden decides to go out and find a life for himself by taking a job his father didn't want him to take when he discovered he would never fulfill his purpose under his father's watch.

He left behind his girlfriend who he had plans to marry after he gets what he wants, a mother who loves him, a brother who cherishes him, and a father who disowned him after he decided to find himself and not live life for his father.

While Blaine stays behind and follows his father's dream for him, both brothers are on the verge of getting hold of their dreams but what they never knew was that their life was going to take a turn just when their dreams appear to be within grasp.

Camden's girlfriend Dawn decides to have fun with her friends which consist of Amber her close friend, Blaine, and Akil who are all part of the group one night which led to Amber and Blaine getting drunk and having sex.

This one event drives a wedge between both brothers and they all went their separate ways when Camden discovered a day after he decided to propose to Amber but she had another plan of her own.

Blaine and his father were on their way out with so much excitement when both had an accident which lead to the death of their father and Blaine being hospitalized.

Camden decides to come back after he got the news and both brothers reconciled in the hospital after Blaine woke up.

Camden refuses to attend the burial of his father and stayed in the car while others went but he was given a letter by his mother from his father stating how proud and sorry he was to have done the things he did to him.

Camden falls in love with Amber while Blaine learns life the hard way, amend his ways, and decides to be a better husband, cherish and love Dawn henceforth.

My Thought

The movie was quite confusing from the beginning as I tried to grasp the title of the movie and the plot. At first, I thought the movie was about their father's love for Blaine and so I came to a conclusion that their father loved Blaine than Camden but in the end, I realized that the father loved both sons but respected Camden more for being a better man.

Those are my thought anyways because the title of the movie kinda does not look anything like the roles the character played even though I wouldn't know what best name to give the movie but it's kinda confusing.

The movie is good and for families, and the characters all played their roles perfectly well.
