Insight is a 2021 American action film produced and directed by Livi Zheng.
About The Movie
Jian who is a counter-terrorism agent with skills in martial arts and clairvoyance was told that his brother is dead as a result of suicide he committed was in doubt and decided to visit his brother home and find out the truth about his brother's death.
On getting to Los Angeles, he was welcomed by the detectives there and on their way to his brother's apartment, he knew there was something wrong going inside a particular company building although he was told that the company is a highly respected industry but he had an instinct that there was something fishy going on inside the building away from the public eyes.
He found some clues in his brother's apartment pointing to the same company building he saw and which he inquired from the police on his way.
Jian decided to go on the first day alone but was arrested and detained for trespassing but was bailed out by a female detective named Abby who was curious about his sudden inquiry about the company and attitude towards his brother's death.
She felt his confidence that his brother did not commit suicide even when both siblings have not been in touch for some years now was convincing and that he knew something convincing that could help them in his brother's case even though it was said to be suicide.
To Abby's dismay, she was dismissed and asked to stay off the case and not get involved. Out of anger stormed Jian's late brother's apartment to ask him to spill whatever he knows about his brother's death since she has been dismissed because she got involved in the case.
Jian decided to let her in although it would put her life at risk but he had to because he needed her help and that of the other detectives whom they can trust.
Jian told her about the gift both he and his brother had and how he suspected that his brother was killed by someone who wanted to use his gift for something disastrous.
Although reluctant, he teams up with LAPD detectives to investigate the death of his brother and battle a high-tech criminal who wants to exploit his special gift.
The criminal was finally caught and then, they realized that his brother died unexpectedly as a result of him trying to exploit his gift.
Jian and Abby walked together in Los Angeles to catch criminals.
I would give this movie a 6/10, although it is not as eye-catchy and interesting as the other movie I have watched and reviewed here.
The story itself is not awesome but the characters did an awesome job that would make you want to watch till the end. And one of the things I learned was that having someone who trusts and knows you and the things you do is the best. The support from people he never expected even when they knew what he was doing was risky keeps one going.
