Maybe you've seen this picture of a black man crying many times on Instagram or Facebook memes, me too, but I never knew where it was from or what that scene represented, and after researching and finding that it belonged to the thriller Get Out and watching the movie I was extremely petrified to the essence that the film transmitted, since I had months without a movie so simple and simple that left me with my hands cold and my body trembling. That's why today I wanted to review this wonderful film by the amazing director Jordan Pele, where we see the distressing situation in which Chris Washington finds himself when he learns the terrible secrets of his girlfriend's family. But first a little bit of what the plot is about.
Tal vez hayas visto esta foto de un negro llorando muchas veces en Instagram o memes de Facebook, yo tambien, pero nunca sabia de donde era o que representaba esa escena, y luego de investigar y encontrar que pertenecía a la película de suspenso Get Out y ver la película pues quede sumamente petrificado a la esencia que transmitía la película, ya que tenía meses sin que una película tan sencilla y simple me dejara con las manos heladas y el cuerpo temblando. Por eso hoy quería hacerle una reseña es esta maravillosa película de la mano del asombroso director Jordán Pele, donde vemos la angustiosa situación en la que se encuentra Chris Washington cuando se entera de los terribles secretos de la familia de su novia. Pero antes un poco de lo que va la trama.
Photographer Chris Washington is a young black man (I use black because that's what the movie is about so I see no problem haha) who has a white girlfriend named Rose Armitage, the idea of meeting his girlfriend's white family terrifies him since the issue of racism is something very marked in Chris's world where he constantly feels contempt for his skin color, He also knows that his girlfriend's family lives in a highly racist area of the country, because when they are driving to the Armitage family's house they accidentally hit a deer, but when the police come to see what happened the white policeman asks Chris for his license and looks at him accusing him even though he was not even the one who was driving. So the theme of racism is something very recurrent throughout the film.
Then they arrive at the Armitage family home, but Chris notices that the family's employees are black and act in a very strange way, but, although Chris notices strange things, he decides not to pay attention to them so as not to be paranoid. But everything was going very normal for Chris who even manages to conquer the family of his girlfriend, dealing with issues in common, but everything gets weird when Rose's parents want to try to hypnotize him to help him quit his cigarette habit, which Chris resists and says that it is better for him that he will quit when he wants. Then at night Chris goes out to smoke a cigarette when he notices something strange, and that is that one of the employees of the Armitage family the gardener runs towards him during the night like a madman, which adjusts Chris but when this employee is about to get to where he is, he turns away, then Chris returns to the house but meets his girlfriend's mother, who invites him to sit down and starts asking him questions about his mother, as she died in an accident which Chris takes the blame for, but unknowingly the girlfriend's mother manages to hypnotize him and Chris is left as the meme image from the beginning, motionless and crying. The next day he manages to quit smoking.
But things get even stranger when some family friends come to visit him and he discovers things about the Armitage family that make him want to run away, but everything unfolds in an epic way already, although the first 60 minutes of the film may seem ordinary the end is amazingly terrifying, if you want to know more I invite you to see Get Out, I am absolutely sure you will not regret it.
El fotógrafo Chris Washington es un joven negro (Uso negro porque de eso trata la película así que no veo problema jaja) que tiene una novia blanca llamada Rose Armitage, la idea de conocer la familia blanca de su novia le aterra ya que el tema del racismo es algo muy marcado en el mundo de Chris donde constantemente siente desprecio por su color de piel, además sabe que la familia de su novia viven en una zona altamente racista del país, ya que cuando van conduciendo hacia la casa de la familia Armitage atropellan por accidente a un ciervo, pero cuando viene la policía a ver que paso el policía blanco le pide la licencia a Chris y lo mira acusándolo aunque él ni siquiera era quien conducía. Así que el tema del racismo es algo muy recurrente en toda la película.
Luego llegan hasta la casa de la familia Armitage, pero Chris nota que los empleados de la familia son negros y actúan de un modo muy extraño, pero, aunque Chris nota cosa extrañas decide no prestarle atención para no ser paranoico. Pero todo iba con mucha normalidad para Chris que hasta logra conquistar a la familia de su novia, tratando temas en común, pero todo se pone raro cuando los padres de Rose quieren tratar de hipnotizarlo para ayudarlo a dejar su vicio del cigarro, cosa que Chris se resiste y dice que así es mejor para el que lo dejara cuando quiera. Luego en la noche Chris sale a fumar un cigarro cuando nota algo extraño, y es que uno de los empleados de la familia Armitage el jardinero corre hacia él durante la noche como un loco, lo cual ajusta a Chris pero cuando este empelado está a punto de llegar hacia donde está él se desvía, luego Chris vuelve a la casa pero se encuentra con la mama de su novia, que lo invita a sentarse y le comienza a hacer preguntas sobre su madre, ya que murió en un accidente el cual Chris carga con la culpa, pero sin saberlo la madre de la novia logra hipnotizarlo y Chris queda como la imagen meme del principio, inmóvil y llorando. Al día siguiente logra dejar el cigarro.
Pero las cosas se tornan aun más extraña cuando llegan unos amigos de la familia a visitarlo y va descubriendo cosa de la familia Armitage que lo hacen querer huir, pero todo se desenvuelve de una manera épica ya, aunque los primeros 60 minutos de la película puedan parecer ordinarios el final es asombrosamente aterrador, si quieres saber más te invito a ver Get Out, estoy totalmente seguro que no te arrepentirás.
I know I speak highly of this movie like others, but in reality this movie hits the nail right on the head with what it offers, suspense of the purest level or as the shoulder says killer suspense, as it is totally genuine and terrifying. In fact, I saw the reviews and they are totally favorable and what was invested in the movie and what was collected was brutal, since $4 million was invested in this movie (approximately) and it collected a staggering $255 million, which makes it a very, very profitable movie, since it invested 1.6% of what it collected.
In addition the performances of the artists were extremely epic, Daniel Kaluuya himself was an ace with his acting, especially when he felt scared or when he felt nervous when he saw all the strange situation. The girlfriend Allison Williams, an actress with a lot to hide and epic ending and the parents among other actors everything was very well crafted. Another thing is the plot itself, which as I mentioned is pure suspense, of the highest quality level. since they don't need to go towards the extremely gore or diabolical spiritism to scare you, as I said at the end of watching this movie my hands were cold and shaking, I even stopped trusting everyone around me haha just kidding, but as it shows what people are willing to do for power and money it's scary.
Se que hablo muy bien de esta película como otras, pero en realidad esta película da justo en el clavo con lo que ofrece, suspenso del más puro nivel o como dice el hombro suspenso de la mata, ya que es totalmente genuino y aterrador. De hecho, vi las críticas y son totalmente favorables y lo que se invirtió en la película y lo que se recaudo fue una brutalidad, ya que se invirtió en esta película $4 millones (aproximadamente) y se recaudó la asombrosa cantidad de $255 millones, lo cual la vuelve una película muy pero muy rentable, ya que se invirtió un 1.6% de lo que recaudo.
Adema las actuaciones de los artistas fueron sumamente épicas, el propio Daniel Kaluuya fue todo un as con su actuación, sobre todo cuando sentía miedo o cuando se sentía nervioso al ver toda la extraña situación. La novia Allison Williams, una actriz con mucho que ocultar y final épico y los padres entre otros actores todo estuvo muy bien elaborado. Otra cosa es la propia trama, que como mencione es suspenso puro, del nivel de más alta calidad. ya que no necesitan ir hacia lo extremadamente gore o el espiritismo diabólico para asustarte, como dije al termina de ver esta película las manos estaban frías y temblaban, incluso hasta deje de confiar en todos a mi alrededor jaja es broma, pero como muestra que están dispuestas a hacer las personas por poder y dinero es aterrador.
And of course it couldn't end without mentioning director Jordan Peele, who has not only brought us gems like this suspenseful one, but also others like US and Nope! which I'll talk about later. For this actor/director has had quite a remarkable career with memorable performances and iconic directing like this one.
In conclusion, why should you watch Get Out (if you haven't seen it yet) because it is pure suspense and thrilling, it also involves a topic that has had international repercussions such as racism and they don't approach it like the typical silly progressive movies, but rather they approach it in a unique and incredible way, it also has a confusing ending that has two versions so it is up to the viewer to decide what really happened. Pue este actor/director ha tenido una carrera bastante notable con participaciones memorable y direccioné icónicas como esta.
En conclusión, ¿Por qué deberías ver Get Out? (Si aun no la ha visto) Porque es suspenso puro y emocionante, además viene involucrado un tema que ha repercutido de manera internacional como es el racismo y no lo abordan como las típicas bobas películas progresistas, más bien lo abordan de una manera única e increíble, además tiene un final confuso que existen dos versiones así que queda a conciencia del espectador decidir que paso en realidad.
