This is a work of art and a wonderful film about the historic friendship of a monarch who drove cultural and scientific innovation and a brilliant revolutionary inventor.

Out of this connection came times of glory and happiness.

But this was detrimental to the central Chinese monarchy and put pressure on the regents of the northern territories (which much later became Korea).

A dramatic story of human beauty, courage and disappointment when a monarch must break a friendship with an engineer friend.

The drama is a historical drama adapted from true events, telling the story of King Sejong (played by Han Seok-gyu) and Jang Young-sil (played by Choi Min-sik), who have been friends for more than 20 years.

Together they invented a variety of astronomical observation equipment.

The screenplay was written by Jeong Beom-sik, Ji-min Lee and its original title is Haneule Mudneunda.
