So the new Venom trailer dropped few days ago so I figured I would make a post with my thoughts on it. So here is the new trailer.
This is the second film iteration of Venom, the fist one being portrayed by Topher Grace in the Spider-Man 3. While that version seemed to be adapted just for that film and abandoned a lot of the source material in the process, this version is adapted directly from the Venom Lethal Protector comic book series and the Planet of the Symbiotes series.
I have to say the Venom costume looks badass, pretty much exactly how you would expect it to look in a live action movie minus the white Spider-Man emblem from the comics but I'll let that slide since we're getting a different origin story. Casting is also more on point with Tom Hardy taking on the role of Eddie Brock.

2018 Trailer

The 2018 version to me looks physically more imposing when seen in full view as well.
We also get venom as it's own character so it will bring the dynamic of the two different personalities of the symbiote and Eddied Brock struggling for control of his body. That falls more in line with the source material which I'm happy about.
All in all I thought it looks pretty decent especially the symbiote fight at the end of the trailer, I probably will go see the movie just for that.
What does everyone else think? Did you like the trailer or does it look bad?
Let me know and thanks for taking the time to read this blog post.
