A petty thief with an utter resemblance to a samurai warlord is hired as the lord's double. When the warlord later dies the thief is forced to take up arms in his place.

THE REVIEW

It is not easy to be someone else, let alone imitate and follow the lifestyle of a king. In telling the Japanese era of the greatest general General Clan Takeda was shot by the unknown, the General was dying and had time to tell his death in secret to avoid attacks from Clan Nobunaga & Tokugawa, great brother of General Clan Takeda Nobukado was looking for Kagemusha or a figure similar to Takeda Shingen , And he found a thief who doesn't know where he comes from and apparently really resembles that of a the real Takeda Shingen.

What is kagemusha ?, kagemusha is a duplicate term of a person or a shadow warrior who is the shadow of the Japanese kings who have time to deceive their enemies. The Kagemusha turns out to be difficult when first seen by his people, servants and royal families, but this Kagemusha is apparently not an ordinary thief, he is able to steal the Shingen Asli behavior brilliantly, as a result he is in running his disguise. Tatsuya Nakadai brought his role with the cold also wisely yes also able to many tit humor in his roles, such as actor Toshiro Mifune in the movie Yojimbo and samurai seven.

This kurosawa movie is very different from the previous movie because the setting and the equipment is very big, this movie must be a big cost, why there is the name of George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola in this movie? Yeah, Studio Toho Empire is a waste of money, because this film requires the Majestic Set, Costume and hundreds of horses, then the 20th Century Century Fox also took part in kagemusha settlement. Perhaps George Lucas is indebted to his inspiration in Star Wars. This film may be a warm-up for kurosawa for the RAN project completed in the next 4 years.

Kurosawa really knows how to take moments and scenes in every scene, interesting sights, brilliant color tones, Especially this is the first colored kurosawa movie I watch, the fake Shingen dream scene is really stunning, no visual effects and so on, which There is just a color game and shooting the Epic. Oh yes in this film there is a lot of long take (taking the long scene without dashed) in direct with perfect by kurosawa with dialogue that sometimes mute briefly like holding deep breath, maybe so that the audience can better understand, do not forget the acting of the players So natural and his emotions are so tight. Besides the Japanese culture is thick so applied in a very formal, attractive costumes, dances and much more.

Although not entirely this film contains a war scene, but I really enjoy this movie, closed with a multi-dramatic ending, this movie I do not recommend for lovers of cutting scenes, blood like kill bill, maybe many say this movie boring but actually Which you find here more serious than any other samurai movie ever.

RATING (8/10)
