The new anime season is here for good with some hidden anime gems. Aside the fact that there is a new Overlord season as well as a new Attack on Titan one, we have many completely new anime too. Most of them are bookmarked and i am waiting for at least 3 episodes to come out in order to do a proper review. I believe watching the first 3-4 episodes of a 12-24 episode anime, a person can obtain a better perspective of good the anime will be.
Anyway that's not always the case as there are particularly anime categories that we simply don't care a lot about how good the animation is or if there are fights, we just wanna laugh and entertained. For that reason i think Harem, Ecchi and Comedy anime are about.
Although i don't watch that kind of anime cause i really like fights,mystery and big plots with many different aspects, i gave it a try cause a friend recommended it. He said ''you gonna laugh your ass off''.
Back Street Girls: Gokudolls
So the anime aired a week ago at 4/7/2017 and till now there are 2 episodes out. The total number of episodes is unknown but i believe in the magic number of 12. The adaptation is from the J.C.Staff Studios who have quite the reputation as it's the same studio that was behind Shokugeki No Souma (Food Wars). The animation isn't that great though maybe cause it's not that known of an anime-manga.
Plot
Here is where it get interesting. First of all i wanna say that Japan never let me down! I don't know where this intense imagination is coming from but i am thankful. The anime starts pretty badass with 3 Yakuza men of one of the most known mafias around the world begging their boss for forgiveness cause they messed up a pretty important job. They want his forgiveness so bad that they are willing to cut more than one of their fingers.
BUT.........
The boss has quite a different idea. They can either kill themselves or become Idols. (Yes you read correctly!) He has seen that pop idols earn a lot of money so he ''forces'' them to go to Thailand get a sex reassignment surgery and become female pop idols. (hahaha that's what imagination is about!). Why to watch it?
Except the fact that the whole idea sounds great even for a comedy movie, in anime we get to watch how they manage to comprehend all this stuff. When they are in front of cameras you seem them as cute little girls but behind the scenes the Yakuza brotherhood is alive in them. You gonna watch them sit like men, smoking, drinking Jack Daniels and in the next scene sake hands of obese fanboys :P
They try not to forget that they were gang-members and men so prepare to see some intense bro moments. The voice actors help a lot with that too. Also note that having great voice actors help a lot make that anime better. What i mean is that on the one hand we get to see some girly girly voices and a couple of seconds later we can ''hear'' their thinking with their masculine male voices!
