Black Lightning Season 2 Is Out (Episode 1 Review)

Review by @filotasriza3 · 2801d · of Black Lightning

Black Lightning Season 2 is already out counting 3 episodes that have aired. The total number of episodes will be 13 same as season 1. For all of you that are unfamiliar with the general concept and plot i am gonna briefly inform you and then head over to season 2 to share some of my thoughts as well as things that going on.

Season 1 Brief Catch Up

Black lightning is about a black superhero that's a bit different than the rest ones. The reason is that he is already a veteran hero who have retired in order to live a happy life with his family and not just another "kid" that now obtained superpowers and don't know how to use them. He now is a principal of a great school that help children stay out of streets and have a chance in their lives.

Minor Season 1 Spoilers Ahead

Some unfortunate events lead him to suit up again in order to deal with some thugs and drug dealers and as you can guess he knows how to use his powers pretty well! Soon enough his 2 daughters will discover that they also possess powers as well as that his arch-nemesis is alive and behind all the problems his town faces. Along with his daughters and a close friend that has been like a father to him, they will try to deal with all these issues and save their city!

Season 2 Plot

Season 2 takes place just a week after the events of season 1 finale. Everyone in the town knows about the experiments on their children and friends that going on and try to raise money to sue the hell out of the government. The violence and drug use are out of control while Jefferson tries to solve both his family and work issues as effectively as he can. Inspector Henderson suspects who Black Lightning is and confirms a bit later and the main villain is alive and well.

What i like

First of all i like that we get shows with Black Superheros not because i am pro-pc or something, but i like to use these series as references to the sjw community and anyone else with the same mindset :P

On a serious note now what really fascinates me in the show isn't the powers, the fight scenes or the acting (all of these are just a little bit above average for me) but the fact the hero faces actual problems. Everything that he does has actual consequences to his real life and family. They gave this hero a more human and realistic side as he struggles a lot with mental health issues, stress and trauma that are a result of his powers and his decisions-responsibilities that he has!

I will write a full review after the second season is completed whether you want it or not :P
