Hey ladies and gentlemen i hope you are great! Last week my uncle called in order to go and watch a movie together. The ones who read my content know by now that uncle+cinema= free movie for me along with the fun! Thus, i couldn't say no and went. A little bit before we arrive to the cinema i remembered that i had no freaking idea of what movie i was about to watch, so i kindly asked.
As you can tell by the title the movie was Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and you may wonder "what's the big deal?", yeah i haven't watched a single one of the franchise... Also, i am not fond of the cars that much so i don't particularly like movies and games that revolve around that matter. In other words, I thought that i was gonna waste 2 hours and 17 minutes of my life over just cars...

Long story short that wasn't the case because they made some changes and took a different direction from the usual format of their franchise so at the end of the day i had fun. Now you have to know that you are damn lucky as this isn't only a movie review of a fanboy but also a review of an one in a million people that have never watched a single fast a furious!

Plot
Our story starts with some MI6 agents that wanna capture a strange virus that as usual can destroy the world (everyday stuff) and the main villain trying to claim it for his own agenda. Before you ask me and i know you will "who the villain was" it was Brixton (Idris Elba) and the MI6 captain was Hattie (Vanessa Kirby). Brixton uses some kind of advanced tech that makes him kicks everyone's butts so Hattie in a final attempt to protect the virus from him, she injects it into her own body! (she is willing to sacrifice her life for the sake of the world, YOU HEAR ME?)
Things become a little bit complicated as Hattie is considered responsible for stealing the virus as well as a traitor of MI6 and very dangerous. Thus, the Intelligence agencies need the best men for the job in order to secure the virus and save the world. Those 2 men are Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) a badass masculine man and Shaw (Jason Statham) a man with more finesse. Apparently, they hate each other and are forced to cooperate together and team up in order to find the virus. My spider senses say that those 2 have also played in previous fast and furious.

trailer
Anyway soon enough we learn that Hattie is Shaw's sister and was framed from a secret organization that has a lot of power and it's goal is to have tech implants and stuff to every human in order to go one step ahead as society. They want to use the virus in order to eradicate most of humanity in which the one who live are the worthy of tech transplants or at least worshipers of the organization. They also need to take the virus out of Hattie's body withing 48 hours otherwise she is gonna die! Hobbs Shaw and Hattie team up under the family ideals and save both Hattie and the day!
What i Liked
The first thing i really enjoyed is that they took a different approach with this movie, making it more like an action comedy and not that car oriented. Less cars more fighting in simple terms! Also, they had many funny scenes with Hobbs and Shaw together as they both hated each other's style. Most of the action scenes were pretty good but ofc not believable but still pretty satisfying.

Finally, they had some key actors that from the trailer nobody knew they gonna take part in the movie. One was Kevin Hart and the other one was the one and only Ryan Reynolds. Whenever those 2 had a scene it was guaranteed that you gonna at least share a smile!
What i didn't Like
First and foremost the whole scenario wasn't anything perfect or different. A secret organization with a crazy like belief want to nearly destroy the world having a badass soldier in their side, while the good guys who are also badass they to save and ofc they save the world! Another thing that i didn't like was that the movie was too long. It could easily end at 1 hour and 30 minutes and that was because of the repeated scenario. The bad guy finds them, they fight a bit, they manage to run and the same keeps happening until they win.

Conclusion & Rating
Overall it was a good movie to watch if you just wanna have a fun time and not start overthinking about where the world goes, how the toxic society makes us the same or worse (watch Joker for that) and whether Earth is flat or square. Just a fun movie with tons of action that you can enjoy while eating your popcorn. If you want something with a meaning, a romantic one or a horror please don't watch it, but you can still eat the popcorn at your house!
