The previous anime season was quite good and the "tradition" continued with this one which is also amazing. We have some old popular anime that thankfully we have a new season out, like SAO 3, Tokyo Ghoul 4 and Fairy Tail but also a lot of hidden gems too.
One of the hidden gems that isn't that in general that popular but that's because of it's genre. The anime is called Hinomaru Sumo and as you can imagine it's a martial arts-sport anime and these kind of anime attract a specific audience.
General Info That Nobody Cares
As i mentioned the anime is called Hinomaru Sumo and it's a martial arts-sports anime. It aired at Oct 5 of 2018 and will have 24 episodes. The studio behind it is called Gonzo and some of the anime that is known for are Hellsing, GANTZ and Afro Samurai among others. The anime comes from the manga which already have 212 chapters out!
Plot
The main star is Ushio Hinomaru a short red haired guy who is mislead to Oodachi school. He expected to go to one school that has one of the most famous sumo clubs to enroll but that isn't the case. Instead, he soon finds out that the sumo club is weak and has only one member. All of the school members consider it a lost cause and some thugs have made it into their "turf"

Soon enough Ushio will beat the thugs, decide to stay in that school and nearly in the first to episodes we already see a team of five to be formed. Both of these 5 members have different goals they want to achieve so they don't just enroll to sumo club to become sumo champions.
Also, Ushio has previously earned a title and can be also named in the sumo field as the National Treasure Onimaru Kunitsuna something that is quite rare among the. His main goal is the highest rank in professional sumo but there are some strict rules about the height so before that he needs to come first at the high schools tournament.
Is It Worth?
First of all let me say that i haven't reveal anything about the anime so don't worry about spoilers. Also, if you are a fan of sports anime then you definitely must see this. A clever thing the mangaka did is to make this into a sports-martial arts genre. This is very clever as a lot of people like watching martial arts anime so basically he merged it together with the sport genre!

The animation is average not great but not bad. The fight scenes are quite good and the plot feels to progressing a bit fast, but that's just a feeling i haven't compared it to the manga! As i mentioned multiple times by now it's worth watching it if you are fan of sports-martial anime or generally the sumo industry, otherwise it's highly possible that you won't like it all!
