I really like to watch series, i am a big fan! I prefer them a lot from the movies as i get more episodes and generally more air time watching them instead of the one time only and then wait 2-3 years for a sequel-prequel kind of thing. Thus, if you wanna find good shows to watch or just series to pass your time i am your guy! 

This season some new series came up in the surface and ofc i went straight to watch them. One of those is the prequel of Sons Of Anarchy which is called Mayans and if you have seen the previous masterpiece then you know what the name Mayans mean. In case you haven't watched the series yet check my review here! 

Today though i am gonna review another series and more specifically the first episode! The name of the show will more likely be familiar to your ears as it has already 4 movies out! It's called............

If you have no clue whatsoever about the story let me enlighten you in a few sentences. The whole set is a not far away from now future America where the given government or as they called ''The Founding Fathers"  found a new way to reduce the criminality levels and apparently it's "going well"

So for one night per year everything is allowed. That means for the 12 hours till the morning anyone can do whatever he wants like killing, raping, stealing and that would be completely legal. Nobody will catch him and throw him to prison or any of that.

Every year every person tries to find ways to either enjoy that night or stay away from it. The ones that wanna stay away can just travel to other countries in order to completely avoid it, or hide in their homes with many locks and guns in order to protect themselves. 

On the other hand the ones that wanna go out for a rampage spent all the year thinking creative ways to kill, buying their weapons and even making their own uniforms and masks. Note that the masks in the show provide the horror aspect or at least uplift the whole idea!

Because the whole thing is for just 12 hours the whole series idea may seem like a bad idea but the people behind it thought it a bit carefully. What they did is to introduce us multiple people with different social structures and apparently different stories and backgrounds in order to fill that time gap. Also i bet we gonna have some flashbacks with backstories of the characters.

The characters that we are introduced to in the first episode are a marine named Miguel that is looking for his little sister and goes out in the streets and hoods showing us what's going on there and how these people deal with all the purging. Also, there is a couple that don't like the whole purging idea but because they need a funding from a rich guy they are invited into his house and party so it's their first purging!

Note that this rich person is a huge fan of purge so expect a lot of things happening in the party! So what's left? The working class! We have another "main" character introduced Jane who has a high financial spot in the company but can't reach any further so she seems to hire an assassin!

During the final minutes of the first episode the purge begins and we get to see some killing but nothing fancy. There some cool masks too with one that i extremely like to have written in the forehead "Free Hugs" :P All in all i don't think that the series would be a great one but not a bad one either. It would be worth for killing your time and still nobody knows how the next episodes will be!
