I love cartoons and if they have a good story much more, and this is the case of The Mitchells Against the Machines, one of the latest films from Sony Pictures Animation and thanks to the pandemic have not been able to release in theaters in 2020 as planned and come to our screens via Netflix, is an animation full of comedy and science fiction, which encompasses common situations that can happen in real life and situations that many families live day after day.
The Mitchells made up of Rick a hardworking nature-loving father and so-called technophobe (technology-phobic), faces a family that unlike him, loves technology and arguably can't live without it, these are Linda his wife and mother of Katie an amateur filmmaker who uploads videos to the Web and for which she has won a scholarship to study at film school on the other side of the country, Aaron the younger brother, dinosaur lover in addition, and Monchi his peculiar dog that plays a very important role in his family and even in this story.
Katie's relationship with her father is not the best, as she feels that her father does not value what she does and this in an attempt to prove to her that this is not the case, breaks Katie's laptop, also breaking her heart. Linda trying to unite her family, as she argues that they have never been united at all because there is always an argument between everyone makes Rick come up with the idea of one last family trip to cross the country and take Katie to college, what they did not know was that this trip would become a great adventure where they would have to fight with robots.
On the other hand, we have PAL a help program that emulates Siri (Apple's virtual assistant), created by the company AI PAL and that makes the launch of a new line of help robots, which makes PAL is considered obsolete and this in revenge takes over the domain of the company and systems, thus ordering the robots to kidnap all humans and take them to strategic sites where they would be launched into space. This is where the real action of this movie begins. The Mitchells a disastrous family will become the saviors of humanity, accompanied by a couple of defective robots will seek to deactivate PAL and thus restore calm and normal life for people.
In this road full of adventures, this family that has been practically separated (even living under the same roof), by technology, will be united by the same end, Rick Mitchell will be forced to use a computer, they will fight against a Furby giant and his army of Furby's, they will find memories that will change their lives and their way of seeing things, they will fight with their own fears and will end this journey being a new family, great heroes and above all united by the love that unites every family despite their differences and arguments.
By the end of the story Katie will make it to her destination, Film school at Kentwood University, and despite being away from her family they will be closer than ever thanks to technology, and which now Rick, her father has begun to accept as part of their daily lives.
The truth is that the concept of adding cartoon effects like those of the old Batman and Robin comics, caused me a lot of fun and gives a unique touch to that movie, they give a good touch to the computer animation, this part I really liked a lot. As for the story that accompanies the movie, far from the whole plot of the fights with the robots to reestablish order, it was very good, families are not perfect as we see them many times in social networks, our family photos hardly come out perfect, and if they are for sure there is someone who is being forced to pretend hahaha.
This movie has a great message about family, union and love in the same, a good father will always look for ways to improve the relationship with their children and a good mother will always protect their children even if this means changing their way of being. Parents sometimes make sacrifices leaving their interests and tastes aside just to think about the happiness and stability of their children and family, as well as they are able to go out of their comfort zone to save those they love.
Certainly technology is one of the tools that has helped to facilitate our lives, but the uncontrolled use of it can lead us to perdition, many times we are at a family reunion and everyone is in his world inside the cell phone, others on the computer and others more in video games (happens very often in my family), this is perfectly reflected in this film, as well as reflects the communication problems that originate from this issue. I invite you to watch it if you haven't already, if like me, you love cartoons with a message, I'm sure you will love this movie.

Amo las caricaturas y si tienen una buena historia muchísimo más, y este es el caso de Los Mitchells Contra las Maquinas, una de las ultimas películas de Sony Pictures Animation y que gracias a la pandemia no han podido estrenar en cines en 2020 como estaba previsto y llegan a nuestras pantallas mediante Netflix, es una animación llena de comedia y ciencia ficción, que engloba situaciones comunes que pueden sucedernos en la vida real y situaciones que muchas familias viven día tras día.
Los Mitchells conformados por Rick un padre trabajador amante de la naturaleza y llamado también tecnófobo (fobia a la tecnología), se enfrenta a una familia que a diferencia de el, ama la tecnología y se pudiera decir que no pueden vivir sin ella, estos son Linda su esposa y madre de Katie una cineasta aficionada que sube videos a la Web y por lo cual ha ganado una beca para estudiar en la escuela de cine al otro lado del país, Aaron el hermanito menor, amante de los dinosaurios además, y Monchi su peculiar perro que juega un papel muy importante en su familia e incluso en esta historia.
La relación de Katie con su padre no es la mejor, ya que ella considera que su padre no valora lo que ella hace y este en un intento por demostrarle que no es así, rompe el laptop de Katie, rompiendo además su corazón. Linda tratando de unir a su familia, pues ella argumenta que nunca han estado unidos del todo porque siempre hay una discusión entre todos hace que a Rick se le ocurra la idea de un último viaje en familia para atravesar así el país y llevar a Katie a su universidad, lo que no sabían era que este viaje se convertiría en una gran aventura en donde tendrían que pelear con robots.
Por otro lado, tenemos a PAL un programa de ayuda que emula a Siri (ayudante virtual de Apple), creado por la empresa AI PAL y que hace el lanzamiento de una nueva línea de robots de ayuda, lo que hace que PAL sea considerado obsoleto y este en venganza se apodera del dominio de la empresa y los sistemas, ordenando así a los robots secuestrar a todos los humanos y llevarlos a sitios estratégicos donde serian lanzados al espacio. Es aquí donde comienza la verdadera acción de esta película. Los Mitchells una familia desastrosa se convertirán en los salvadores de la humanidad, acompañados de un par de robots defectuosos buscarán desactivar a PAL y de esta manera reestablecer la calma y la vida normal de las personas.
En este camino lleno de aventuras, esta familia que ha sido prácticamente separada (aun viviendo bajo el mismo techo), por la tecnología, será unida por el mismo fin, Rick Mitchell se verá obligado a utilizar una computadora, lucharan contra un Furby gigante y su ejército de Furby´s, encontraran recuerdos que harán cambiar sus vidas y su manera de ver las cosas, lucharan con sus propios miedos y terminaran este viaje siendo una familia nueva, unos grandes héroes y sobre todo unidos por el amor que une a toda familia a pesar de sus diferencias y discusiones.
Al final del cuento Katie lograra llegar a su destino, la escuela de Cine en la Universidad de Kentwood, y a pesar de estar lejos de su familia estarán más cerca que nunca gracias a la tecnología, y que ahora Rick, su padre ha comenzado a aceptar como parte de su vida cotidiana.
La verdad es que el concepto de agregar efectos de caricaturas como los de los viejos comics de Batman y Robin, me causo mucha gracia y le da un toque único a esa película, le dan un buen toque a la animación por computadora, esta parte de verdad que me gustó mucho. En cuanto a la historia que acompaña la película, lejos de toda la trama de las peleas con los robots por reestablecer el orden, estuvo muy buena, las familias no son perfectas como las vemos muchas veces en las redes sociales, nuestras fotos familiares difícilmente salen perfectas, y si lo son con seguridad hay alguien que está siendo forzado a fingir jajaja.
Ciertamente la tecnología es una de las herramientas que ha ayudado a facilitar nuestras vidas, pero el uso descontrolado de la misma puede llevarnos a la perdición, muchas veces estamos en una reunión de familia y cada quien está en su mundo metido dentro del celular, otros en la computadora y otros más en los videojuegos (pasa muy seguido en mi familia), esto se refleja perfectamente en esta película, así como también refleja los problemas de comunicación que se originan por este tema. Los invito a verla si aún no lo han hecho, si como yo, amas las caricaturas con un mensaje, estoy seguro que amaras esta peli.

Mi Opinion
La verdad es que el concepto de agregar efectos de caricaturas como los de los viejos comics de Batman y Robin, me causo mucha gracia y le da un toque único a esa película, le dan un buen toque a la animación por computadora, esta parte de verdad que me gustó mucho. En cuanto a la historia que acompaña la película, lejos de toda la trama de las peleas con los robots por reestablecer el orden, estuvo muy buena, las familias no son perfectas como las vemos muchas veces en las redes sociales, nuestras fotos familiares difícilmente salen perfectas, y si lo son con seguridad hay alguien que está siendo forzado a fingir jajaja.
Esta película tiene un gran mensaje sobre la familia, la unión y el amor en la misma, un buen padre siempre buscara la forma de mejorar la relación con sus hijos y una buena madre siempre va a proteger a sus hijos aunque esto implique cambiar su manera de ser. Los padres en ocasiones hacen sacrificios dejando sus intereses y gustos de lado solo por pensar en la felicidad y la estabilidad de sus hijos y familia, así como también son capaces de salir de su zona de confort para salvar a los que aman.
Ciertamente la tecnología es una de las herramientas que ha ayudado a facilitar nuestras vidas, pero el uso descontrolado de la misma puede llevarnos a la perdición, muchas veces estamos en una reunión de familia y cada quien está en su mundo metido dentro del celular, otros en la computadora y otros más en los videojuegos (pasa muy seguido en mi familia), esto se refleja perfectamente en esta película, así como también refleja los problemas de comunicación que se originan por este tema. Tomando en cuenta que es una película de animación por computadora, en cuanto a efectos especiales y escenografía, y los toques de comics que le agregan debo darle un 9, Por otro lado, la trama de la película y como va complementándose con la historia de los personajes me hace darle un 10.
