As I write this, I have already seen two of the first chapters of the 3rd season, and I like how things are happening in this series, it is still far from entering my list of favorite series, but, as events and situations develop in this 3rd season, it will possibly earn a place, as I am really liking this series. But the post about the 3rd season of Ozark I will do next week. Now I will focus on the 2nd, which I finished last week and there are things that left quite an impact on me, especially certain deaths.
Mainly: Ruth's character is the best, the actress does a wonderful job, and she is very well directed by Jason Bateman, who also does a great job as Marty. Ruth is the soul of this series and is a character who knows how to convey her feelings very well through her eyes. She is undoubtedly one of the characters who suffers the most in this series, but she is also one of the strongest characters in Ozark. On the other hand, we have Marty, which at certain times makes me hate him, since, until he kills Mason, almost, during the entire 2nd season, he showed himself to be a rather cold character, even without feelings, although there are some moments of weakness of this character throughout the series, perhaps one of the most important moments, along with the murder of Mason, which left him a pretty big trauma, another moment, quite intimate was the death of Buddy and how he approached him, to give him a farewell at the funeral home, no doubt, is a moment that gives quite a lot of development to Marty. I had forgotten the moment when Marty, shaves Buddy, another moment quite intimate and that gives a little more humanity to this character, so that his death, although already announced since the first season is even sadder, but at least Buddy died doing something for his "family" and died in the most badass way possible.
There were many deaths in this season, but one of the most shocking, as I did not expect that he would die so quickly, is that of the FBI agent, Patty, I thought it would be a character who could give more fight to the group of protagonists, however, he died very quickly, perhaps he was already a character who, having been defeated, knowing the addiction of his mother, no longer gave for more in this story, however, I expected some kind of revenge from this character towards Marty. There was another "important" death in this season, but more than surprising, this death was pretty much announced since it appeared for the first time, and it is about Cade, Ruth's father, being a character with such a defiant attitude, but at the same time he was an ignorant arrogant, it was quite clear that Cade would die at some point. And what ended up sentencing him was to have killed Patty.
Jacob's death was pretty "meh", since he decided to kill Darlene (which is a character I loathe), it was pretty obvious he was going to die. At least he died "happy", I think. I'm realizing that I'm focusing solely on character deaths LOL.
Wendy's character, is without a doubt, the one that has the biggest change and development in the series, as she is now a more direct part in the events that happened and are going to happen throughout the series, and this is something that is affecting even more the relationship between her and Marty (and this is something that is more noticeable in the 3rd season). Her change is quite good and natural, using her already known skills in politics, she was able to influence and through methods, different characters in the series in order to fulfill the major purpose of this season: The casino.

And well, the end of this season is quite good, with Wendy entering fully into this world of crime, death and betrayal, with a Marty that is perhaps a little more humanized, but with the great distrust that again increases on Wendy, this is a family that is not expected to have a "happy" ending. When I finish watching Season 3, which I hope will be a few days, I'll be back for my final impressions.
