What would you do if one day your happy world falls apart? Well, Frank Abagnale Jr. became the youngest con man in history, cashing checks for millionaire values at just 18 years old.
Catch me if you can or Catch me if you can is a film directed by Steven Spielberg, starring a young Leo DiCaprio and the wonderful Tom Hanks. The story shows us an ordinary young man, Frank (played by Dicaprio), with an apparently happy family, but he sees his world fall apart when he learns that his parents are getting divorced. He runs away from home and manages to successfully pass himself off not only as a copilot of a famous airline, but also as an emergency physician and an assistant prosecutor. He is discovered by an FBI agent, Carl Hanratty (played by Hanks) thus starting a somewhat comedic chase and making our protagonist evade his capture many times.
During the film, it is believed that it was not possible for someone to really deceive everyone like that, but in the end all these events really happened and Frank really managed to steal millions of dollars from the banks before he turned himself in to the FBI.
This comedy / drama is one of the best films I have seen, showing not only what human ingenuity is capable of, but how a true friendship can come out of the worst of circumstances.
